almost covered here. I can't hold my camera still enough to get a good shot. It's a lovely clear night though.

It's been too cloudy in Port Arlington to see it, I can see clear skies somewhere across the water but not here.

Pimpy, sit down on the ground and lean your elbows on your knees.

That should keep the camera a bit steadier

I tried that, but still didn't work. The shutter speed is very slow.

 

I wish it would rain here.

I bought a cheap light weight tripod recommended by another ebay poster. Gorrilla pod.

 

But I'd be interested in some details on your telescope camera. I met a guy who knows a guy with a camera, auto tracking telescope with a camera. He was able to take a great picture of another galaxy (Andromeda?)

 

I guess when I have time I'll look up some prices.

Jimmy, it's just a Canon DSLR.   You can get a thing called a T ring attachment

that you can hook up the camera to the telescope eye piece.

I've just been out to have a look (7.30 here) but it's so overcast I can't see a single star - let  alone the moon.Smiley Sad
