An Australian registered company , whose business is unrelated to medical supplies, has been buying surgical masks etc in bulk from retails outlets and exporting out of Australia, in violation of business to business protocals not to mention being arguably unethical and possibly unlawful - now if hospital staff are short of supplies... what needs to be done....

I bought the last 6 P95 masks from Bunnings near here, I also tried other 2 Bunnings stores and they had none. That was back in January when we had all that smoke from the fires. I felt bad about snatching all 6 but I have lung problems, and they were also for elderly friend, my daughter and granddaughter = 4 people and these masks are disposable. I have not been able to find any masks anywhere since. So where on earth did this company find such a number? If hospitals are running low, that is purely due to the government's incompetence. Government does not buy these masks from retail shops. The main producer of surgical masks is China, but not all the mask manufacturers are in the closed down regions. I am sure China and other countries is churning these masks as fast as they can, and should be able to supply the whole world. After all, nobody is going to be buying much fashion etc over the next few months, so any clohing manufacturer shoul be able to switch to masks. They need to learn how to make them the right quality, not sure how you make them sterile; although I guess they can be sterilzed after they are made.
