Masterchef 2015

OMG, that John is soooo frustrating.

He doesn't listen and then still doesn't listen and smiles.  pulling-hair.gif

Re: Masterchef 2015

I was hoping red team would win tonight in King Valley. Smiley Sad

I thought their dish was better than the chicken.

Oh well, lets hope Billie, Ashleigh, Georgia all cook well during the next elimination.

Re: Masterchef 2015

I think it should have been a draw.

The blue team's lentils were overdone and

the red team had too many pine nuts.

All of them should be put up for elimination     smiley-face-laughing.gif

Re: Masterchef 2015

I was a bit disappointed too, I thought mushy lentils would be a bigger mistake than too many pine nuts. That chololate panacotta looked delicious!

Re: Masterchef 2015

I agree- it ought to have been a draw.

Would much rather eat too many pine nuts than eat mushy lentils..what are those judges thinking??The lentils looked like overcooked baked beans ewww yuck..Was that Rose cooking them?I didnt see her helping entree or dessert...

I thought Johns chicken looked outstanding- would love to try cooking that.

And both desserts were amazing..that syrup+that plum! and the jelly+the rosemary cream- love rosemary, so underrated...

It was funny to hear George swoon...

Re: Masterchef 2015

Well, a fitting result from tonight's Masterchef.

Afterall, how many times before someone gets the message, and still I don't think the message got through.

Did anyone catch the name of the Korean dish used in the blind tasting?

I want to make it, looks great.

Re: Masterchef 2015

Seriously??

It was Bibimbap

Tasty but complex ... MasterChef’s blindfolded contestants had to identify the ingredient

http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/29091/bibimbap

Good luck with that one        Hahahahaha

Google it if you don't like that recipe - there's others

Sooooo glad the smiling assassin has gone - he was never gunna learn!

Re: Masterchef 2015

Thanks, I found a recipe with traditional ingredients. Looks nice.

It cooks further in the stone bowl, then everything is mixed with the Gochujang pepper sauce.

Now looking where to buy the Dolsot stone bowl.

I have the Korean BBQ hotplate and have made bulgogi many times but I have never seen this dish before.

Re: Masterchef 2015

Good ep tonight..Right person was sent home- one too many times hes been given the opportunity, but then time and again, he seems to think he knows best? Gotta get me some of that kind of confidence!

Felt for Matthew- it must be quite difficult for him- he seems to be a pretty serious guy, and competing when hes missing his family so much seems to have such an effect on him. Was a bit difficult to watch.

Was disappointed, again, that Rose seemed to get through- maybe its the editing, but seriously, the way that egg was peeled-ewww. She seems to have a lot of luck on her side..

Ashleigh is doing well- I think the best might be to come from her..bit mean to have that kind of 'advantage'- its not like she gained anything by saving Stephen? I find myself giving her a mental hug when shes onscreenWoman Happy

kopes, quite a while ago, I cooked bibimbap using the pan/pot part of a tagine. I cooked it on the oventop straight over the flame. Then we just served ourselves from the pan at the table, and took bits that we liked and the rice was wonderfully crispy on the bottom. Youve got to use Japanese or Korean rice..the one thats right for sushi- short grain.

Re: Masterchef 2015

Does anyone else think John may have sabotaged himself last night. This is the second time his mistakes have sent his team to elimination, big mistakes too. He's not really a team player is he?

Re: Masterchef 2015

Funny you mention that punch, but I think he was trying hard and too hard which was his downfall.

Had to happen though, as you say not a team player. And working as a team is paramount in hospitality.

Love the calmness of Billie and Reynold. They are still my faves with Ashleigh a close second.

As much as Georgia shines at times, I don't think she has the repertoire in her.

Jessica and Sara are both strong and could come up with surprises.
