Given your background I thought you would be channeling Hamlet, rather than Macbeth.

Heston has reached the room.
A bit like other finales, though. The steak and veg creams the dessert quenn. I certainly hope so.

Trying to be objective, it seems the only MC alumni we see or hear about are those who have TV shows. Where there is no pressure to get dishes out perfectly, or on time. Maybe the lure is celebrity, rather than the 'food dream'.
If Matt really wants to run a food van, rather than develop himself into a chef, the $40k he got will certainly allow him to fulfil that dream. Although I'm sure he could get an apprenticeship in most restaurants, there would be the fact that he (and any other MCs) have to take direction and cook what he's told to cook, in the time to service, not invent things. Might be a bit stifling after the MC experience.
I know Trent is working in the kitchen of a yuppie cafe/restaurant, so he is certainly going the food route.

When Matt's egg split open, it reminded me of a scene in the movie Apollo 13. After the explosion and reality hit, Tom Hanks said "gentlemen, we've just lost the moon". When Matt's egg split open I thought "Matt, you've just lost the prize".
It was a good show tonight. They were so close in their skills, it was really anyone's night. I thought it was lovely near the end of the dessert how Elena went and helped Matt. She'd also previously given him her chocolate spray when his wouldn't work. It shows that strong bonds are really formed between all the contesants.
I don't watch any of the other cooking shows, but the ads indicate to me that on the other shows they just want to gouge everyone else's eyes out. Right the way through this series they were all so supportive of each other and genuinely happy for someone when they won something or just had a really good cook. There was no b1tchiness. None that was broadcast anyway.

I think the Antiques Roadshow is on the 55th rerun on the ABC. Still interesting but I've seen it all before.
