One thing that amazes me with this show is, they know months in advance that they have been selected to try out. Why don't they practice some of the basics? There is always some challenge that involves tempered chocolate, yet so many say "I've never tempered chocolate before". Why not? Every year something has it, PRACTICE it! Perfect it!
Same with risotto. It's supposedly the death dish. Practice it! There's always something involving duck, quail and tuna. Even if you don't eat it, learn to cook it. You're not going to survive if you can only make a few pretty desserts.

I have been watching it a bit but I preferred the other one on the other channel "My Kitchen Rules".

I don't really like Karmen, she annoys me, but you couldn't not admire what she presented. I think if she had a sprinkle of something on the plate, it would have looked a million dollars. It still looked pretty amazing on its own.
I'll put the spoiler as a spoiler so Stawks doesn't see it before she watches it after midnight. Stawks, DON'T read the spoiler! You've been warned!

You don't have to do spoilers, guys
I won't open this thread until I've watched it.
Having said that....I don't know if watching it late at night works.
I seem to have forgotten most of what happened....senility, I guess.
I do remember Karmen's choc ball though and thought it should have
had something else on the plate.
Miles seems to be falling in a hole. I really want him to do better
His effort last night looked like someone had been violently ill on his plate.
And what kind of body scaffolding was Nigella wearing anyway?

Unfortuately I think Miles is the least masterchef. He stumbles from challenge to challenge. Ben he ain't. Ben started with a limited repertoire but had that nailed. Miles overthinks and doesn't understand time management/ how long it takes to cook his ideas.

I always thought Nigella was 'average', not G cup. Threw me a bit. Apart from the fact she, unlike real Michelin chefs, has taken 7 seasons to get on the bandwagon.
Marco and Heston have a lot more cred with me, simply because they were prepared to back the concept from the start, pretty much.
Edit: Yes I realise this is CS and I don't intend to make it a habit.

I think Nigella's appearance is purely a publicity stunt. Has she got a new book coming out? I don't know if it's just her accent, but she comes across as though she'd be a real b1tch.
I agree, the "real" chefs have believed in and supported the show from day one. Not to mention the guest chefs that come in for the immunity challenges.
As much as I'd like to see Miles do well, I don't think he's good enough for the long haul. He seems to do OK in the pressure tests when he's got a recipe, but the rest of the time he stuffs it up.
Fingers crossed that Jimmy gets the boot tonight. He's becoming really irritating. With the raw lamb, that should be enough hopefully! I guess we'll find out in the next few minutes.
