I like Masterchef better than the other cooking comps.
Great way to start this season rather than the mass single tasks they used to do.
Now every hopeful contestant gets 1 hour to cook a dish tasted by the 3 judges.
With second chance contestants cooking for a blind tasting.
24 contestants get an apron.

Yes, I am definitely a fan of most of the royal family.
I also have a similar story of meeting Princess Anne at the Sydney Royal Easter Show when she opened it.
At the end of the day we were just wandering back to the stables when we saw her car at the entrance to the Committee rooms where she had been to dinner. The driver gave us the heads up that she would be leaving in 15 minutes.
My daughter raced back to the stables and rounded up all her friends and Princess Anne was confronted by a pack of very horsey kids who had obviousy been competing and in the Grand Parade that afternoon. She asked if they were all mine...not likely!! There were 6 of them all around 10-13 years old.
Mark Phillips was on crutches so she had to wait for him....she was lovely with the kids, asking what they had been in etc.
She is really beautiful....such beautiful skin. Unfortunately she does not photograph well.

No chance of meeting the Queen now I'm afraid....but I have been very close to her on several of her visits out here.
Princess Anne was wearing a gorgeous deep blue silk dress when I saw her...it really picked up the colour of her eyes.

How old was she when you saw her?
I first saw her when she was 27 and she really was beautiful then.

Brendan I think will be a force to be reckoned with in a year or two, if he keeps working in professional kitchens.
Luckily he came in at a great time, to nab a $10,000 bonus.
Kristen is a great cook but I think she is more confident in desserts.
I really like Sashi too but for sure, he is best at the spicy dishes that reflect his background.
With that, I'm off to make some pumpkin soup. I'll probably potter around and take as long as it takes them to whip up a 3 course gourmet meal involving 699 different cooking steps.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's Reece and Jess in the final.
I liked tonights episode, lots of different dishes, simply done but looked fantastic.
Reece is pretty good and I am sure they have their eye on Jess too.
Ben, I think, won't win it. I wouldn't be surprised if he is next one out actually but even if he got into the final with Jess, I suspect it would take a lot for them to let him win it.
Really, last night's dish to showcase peas. And he spreads some on a plate as a garnish? Underwhelming.
And Kristen-they hinted to her to do something else, it was obvious they have this mantra of 'provide a contrast' ie crunch or fruit and all she did was grate extra lemon into it. Even I could tell that wasn't going to fly.

Chloe wins the superpower. I don't see anything super about it.
The dishes seem to becoming less creative and follow that trendy serving style rather than generous serves with loads of flavour.
Or is it just me ?
Jess, Khan and Reece have the skills to go all the way.
I like Sashi and Ben but don't think they have it in them.
