Baird has just announced that trials will take place from tomorrow.
No need, they have been done already in other parts of the world.
Australia can be so behind the times sometimes
Medicinal marijuana: NSW to run trials for epileptic children, terminally ill adults and cancer patients
Updated 31 minutes agoSun 21 Dec 2014, 10:51am
Medicinal cannabis will be used to treat children with severe epilepsy as part of a clinical trial in New South Wales.
The NSW Government will also fund trials of the drug's use on terminally ill adults and chemotherapy patients who suffer nausea and vomiting as a result of their treatment.
Premier Mike Baird said up to $9 million would be spent on at least three trials of cannabis-derived medicines to examine the benefits for patients suffering a range of debilitating illnesses.

I think if it was controlled by government, it would not be expensive. It is expensive only because it is mainly controlled by criminal dealers.

Only if you buy it on the streets from a Dealer. They have to make a profit. It's easy to get if you know the right people & less expensive than you think.

She is now having Marijuana and has never been so well. Her medications are now minimal, her appetite has increased, she has more energy and her quality of life is 10 fold. It is just amazing to see the difference in all aspects of her life. BTW she does not sit in her room with flashing lights and listening to Pink Floyd Music. She is now enjoying things, which at her age & condition is MAGIC !!!!!
Get her a lava lamp and pink floyd....... why should she be missing out?....

It's a pleasure to read that there seem to be more supporters of medical marijuana on these boards these days than when I first started a thread on it a few years ago......
I think people should feel comfortable supporting/discussing it as they would any other wonder drug.

I'd like to see it legalized for everyone. Takes the profits from crime rings and generates taxes. LOTS of taxes.
It would cost me about $100 a week for a small bag of the good stuff. (You can't even find the old weak stuff even if you wanted to).
Finally legalized here in New York, but only for extremely ill patients. It's a good start.
It would be harder to get medical marijuana legally in New York than to score it on the street under strict regulations proposed Thursday.
Only doctors and pharmacists who undergo four hours of training would be allowed to dispense the drug — and then only in vapor, pill or liquid form — when it becomes legal in 2016. *Passed..., but the slow roll of red tape!*

I was amazed at how the states voted to legalize it in America at the last election.
You might be thinking of an individual state? It's against federal law which covers the enire United States, but certain states made it legal. I'm not sure how that works....how can it be illegal country wide, but legal in a state? And I don't really want to know...I just want to know when I can legally buy a bag, lol.
Yesterday or the day before I read the states neighbouring Colorado are sueing to stop the sale of it in that state. They're using the federal law to stop it (or trying). They're claiming Colorado isn't doing enough to keep it on their side of the border.
It's legal to everyone in Colorado. How frustrating it would be to live just across the border. I'd love to be able to smoke it again and do it legally. Pop in some GTA and vegitate, lol. Unfortunately for me it won't ever be legal for everyone in New York...not in my lifetime anyway.
