i bought a car years ago (your old school buddy arnold rode in it) and when i opened the 'air vent' i copped a face full of dirt and leaves and a dead spider. i was doing 110 and came close to hitting another car.

Re: Melbourne weather

That's nothing - I hopped in my car late one night to drive home and didn't notice until I shut the door -(thank God the window was up), that the biggest green frog in Christendom has climbed between the wind guard thingy and the driver's side window.

When I arrived home, I had to climb over the gear stick, console and seat belt things so I could alight via the passenger side door and make my escape. I left the car parked outside so it would be in the sun in the morning, and the frog would leave. Again, thank God it worked. I couldn't hurt a frog, and I fully understand that they are a beautiful, important part of our ecosystem, but they scare the bejesus out of me! Also, they eat huntsman spiders.

Cheers,

Marina.

lol Debra. Why couldn't you scream in the car?  I was driving onto the Eastern one day, along Bulleen Road in peak hour traffic and he casually walked across my windscreen. I jumped out of the car and tried to beat him off with a newspaper. Funniest thing was a bloke pulled over to help me and he was more scared than me! Smiley Surprised  I'm not usually one to cause a disruption but there was no way I was getting back in that car till it was gone.

As to the weather. I just got off the phone to a friend who is coming over from the USA. She asked me what sort of clothes she should pack. I told her just to pack everything because it's Melbourne!

Re: Melbourne weather

i had a renault 16 with a resident huntsman in it , it lived behind the rear vision mirror for months. i have no fear of them for some reason, probably inherited from my father who was the same (in that respect anyway) i pick one up and let it walk on my head from time to time Smiley LOL people don't like it much, but i'm in demand when there's one on the wall .
