Re: Mental Illness Awareness and Support Thread

Hi Bluecat,  After being at work at 4am, 7 days a week for years the "body clock" has not adjusted to enforced retirement.  Yes, I lie on the loungeroom floor in the afternoon and have a Nana nap. Not too comfortable for a reason.  I don't go to the bed because I think I may sleep too long during the day and hence limited sleep at night.  Around and round it goes.  A routine will develop one day without too many distractions.

Now, I gather your need to do something really really badly......doesn't involve eating chocolate biscuitsSmiley LOL.

Re: Mental Illness Awareness and Support Thread

Actually slept through the night, not even a bathroom break!!!!   8 hours of wonderful "medicine".

So, my regime yesterday was:

(eventually) get dressed for outdoors (see Bogan apparel)

after eating - go for a stroll;  don't just sit and doze off after each meal

abandoned the afternoon nap

(mostly) enjoyed flitting about the Ebay site

thought about what to do physically on the morrow.

Okay, so it's the "morrow". Physical actions are still thoughts at this stage!

But the day is young.

I've added a spritz of White Diamonds to the apparel

Kind thoughts to you all.

Re: Mental Illness Awareness and Support Thread

We have our daughter home again after a two month stay in hospital. Happy to have her home and nervous at the same time.

It's been hard as we are regional and the 4 hour + round trip for visits has been very tiring and draining, not to mention thankless at times, depending on her mood!

She has a very good case manager now (one she likes) so I'm a little bit more optimistic and hopeful this time around.

Fingers crossed ♥

We have a cyclone looming, so it's a very ordinary day here. Windy, grey and wet. We had the most unusual orange, pink then purple sky last night so definitely weird weather going on up here.

Hugs to all Heart

Stay safe, tinytoes. Good to hear that your daughter is home again and I hope that things go smoothly - as least for a little while.

Deb, congrats on finally getting a good night's sleep. It sounds as if you have found the right combination to do so.

My day will consist oftaking pain killers and anti-biotics. I hope to have a shower. It is a beautiful warm autumnal day that is making me feel a bit down because I am missing out on it because of this bloody infection. Ah well.

Just read  back, Bluecat.  My chocolate biscuit idea was thoughtless.  Hope the pain is easing for you.

Re: Mental Illness Awareness and Support Thread

I know all of us were one once.  And you've gotta love them.  Teenagers.

I have been entertained this afternoon  for a brief time, by a youth earning his pocket money by mowing the family's lawn on this beautiful autumn day.

Struggling with the mower, "conking" out continually, the lad was clearly frustrated.  His father advised him to empty the catcher.

"But I don't want to carry the catcher to the wheelie bin".

Shaking his head, his Dad suggested to either wheel the bin to the mower, or wheel the mower to the bin.  "That's why the wheel was invented, to lighten the load"

He actually did a good job for someone that didn't really want to do the task.

Freddie ♥

Well we have commenced genetic testing. After talking about this in length some years ago we had agreed not to do it. Now daughter #1 wants to, plus for us it's free. So in 6 weeks we will know if in fact I carry that gene.
