Most interesting period in history to read about.

I know this is unlike most of my threads. But which particular period in history are you interested in and why? 

What do you learn about learning from past histories? Do you think history repeats itself?

What does interest in certain period in history say about you?

I have friends that are really into war history coz' they have elderly relatives that participate in it. Whereas I find it very depressing to read about war history. 

I find the Russian Tsar stories very interesting.

Gippsland history-because i live here.  Exploration and settlement.

Have 3 bookcases -just books on Gippsland.

Most towns-large and small have at least one book about them.

Some are just a centenary of a school or church booklet,

others large and detailed books.

Collection is growing by a few books a week................................Richo.
