Since then, an estimated 50 more Australians have ยญillegally travelled to the Middle East to join IS, with most believed to have been claiming some form of benefit.

Members of Sydney's Muslim community have set up a $1 million television studio to counter the mainstream media's treatment of Islam in Australia.
From its base in western Sydney, the One Path Network films and edits videos for its YouTube channel, including interviews with local sheikhs about Islamic teachings and current affairs.
Mr Majanni said the studio was funded by community donations and staffed by a team of more than 20 volunteers.
A range of prominent Muslims including the grand mufti of Australia, Dr Ibrahim Abu Mohamed, and Associate Professor Mohamad Abdalla from Griffith University have endorsed the project, appearing in a promotional video.
Supporters include a range of Muslim clerics from moderate to conservative.
Known as a dawah initiative, the studio aims to spread the word of Islam among Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
Funded by Community Donations? A large part of that community is on some sort of Government benefit!

When did the Murdoch Rags get the contract to audit and investigate centrelink clients?

Didn't you watch a little of it?
You provided a link to some of the content and didn't have a look at what you're arguing about?
That's odd.
If they need subtitles they will more than likely use sub titles as required. They hardly need them while they're speaking in English.

I'd also be intrested to understand this surprising distinction you have made on how Muslims are welfare "cheats but Aussies are "fully entitled".
since you quoted that - show me where
icy said that.

still waiting to see the the stats you used to make your claim Julia
martini showed the stats she used for her comments
on โ19-03-2015 11:07 AM
what she did say was that large part of
that community was receiving "some sort of
govt benefit"
what icy said is correct. information relating to
migrants receiving welfare is available on gov
websites. they show countries of birth, the ages
and types of benefits.
surprised no one has bothered to find the information.
maybe its because it would back up what icy said lol.

Here you may have something; unemployed young Muslim kids who are unable to get a job, who feel marginalised are easy target for ISIS recruiters. That is not very surprising.
And so many Australians are doing their best for more and more kids from Muslim background to feel that way. But does not matter what the Muslim community does, some of these racists will try to turn it against them. If they stay silent they are obviously supporting the terrorists, if they try to to do something and set up a TV studio to confront the ISIS recruiters, it is turned into a witch hunt on people who receive some kind of benefit and might from the measly sum donate few dollars to a good cause.

I'd like to see that too.
In fact I said they are perfectly entitled to them. Are Muslims not Aussie as well? The distinction was made by you, Martini. Freudian perhaps?
Here's what I said in post 64:
@j*oono wrote:I doubt it Tezza. I would never allow anyone to use and say such horrible things under my ID so I doubt Icy would either.
What horrible things?
That a large part of the muslim community is on some welfare or another? did you not hear that Man Monis had been drawing welfare all the time he had been living in Australia? That's besides having various business enterprises running concurrently?
Did you not read about the fact that known terrorist Khaleed Sharrouf, he who took a picture of his little son holding up the severed head of an executed Syrian soldier, was on a disability pension? Now that's what I'd call HORRIBLE!
These are benefits they're entitled to. That the Australian government allows them via it's taxpaying population.
You think these ppl are exceptions?
I don't think so.
I think, if the muslim community is funding this TV studio, then a considerable part of that funding is coming via the Aussie taxpayer.

that's not what martini said at all- the link she posted showed unemployed figures in certain suburbs, what it did say is that unemployment is fairly high as there are few jobs around- but we all know that anyway
I'm waiting for you to post the information about migrants receiving welfare on the govt websites as you must've seen them already. I don't know where to look for them, but you must've seen them
