Muslim Community Establishes $ Million TV Studio

Members of Sydney's Muslim community have set up a $1 million television studio to counter the mainstream media's treatment of Islam in Australia.

From its base in western Sydney, the One Path Network films and edits videos for its YouTube channel, including interviews with local sheikhs about Islamic teachings and current affairs.

Mr Majanni said the studio was funded by community donations and staffed by a team of more than 20 volunteers.

A range of prominent Muslims including the grand mufti of Australia, Dr Ibrahim Abu Mohamed, and Associate Professor Mohamad Abdalla from Griffith University have endorsed the project, appearing in a promotional video.

Supporters include a range of Muslim clerics from moderate to conservative.

Known as a dawah initiative, the studio aims to spread the word of Islam among Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

Funded by Community Donations? A large part of that community is on some sort of Government benefit!

do you think they all saved up their measly welfare payments to fund the studio?

I think that quite possible, yes. People living in large family groups all receiving some kind of benefit would have no problem putting in cpl $100 or so on a regular basis.

Of course donations from businesses and companies would be the bulk of income. The Halal tax would probably come into play somewhere as well.

Also the volunteers would quite feasibly be able to donate their time if they were on some sort of g'mnt allowance.

And you have a problem if Muslim people donate few dollars to anti ISIS group that set up the studio?

We used to live in Bidwill - when we left, the milkman (few years ago then) said he was sorry to see us go as we were the only ones on his run who paid our bills regularly.

I also had a softdrink run around other suburbs of Mt Druit - not many of them paid their bills either - denied they had drinks - I KNOW they did - they even had the empties around the back. Ended up leaving that job because as it turned out, I was funding more softdrinks than I was making profit on.

When we lived in Bidwill, Mt Druit was the old area and most of them were OK, but the Bidwill, Shalvey, Hacket etc were not. Having said that, there were the odd few that were working and still struggling a bit. Also, they started building private houses mixed in withe HC - some of them even bought their houses from HC.

well, why don't you just post the link here??  Woman LOL

just in case I haven't said it (which I don't think I actually have) I think Icy is wrong

I don't have a problem if a group of society want to fund their own TV studio, especially if they are using it to condemn ISIS

what icy said is correct.  information relating to

migrants receiving welfare is available on gov

websites.  they show countries of birth, the ages

and types of benefits.

surprised no one has bothered to find the information.

maybe its because it would back up what icy said lol.

I actually did "bother" to find the information that you have been unwilling to find yourself.

If we look at welfare by country of birth, Indigenous people come first with the highest number of unemployed. Then Chinese. Then Vietnamese. Then Korean.

Those from Lebanon (which of course is not a wholly muslim country) come in at number 5 or 6 off the top of my head and then it is a while before we get to the next "islamic" country which I think is Turkey.

Italians come last by the way.

(that is from the ABS stats by the way).

What's next for Australia then, Deb, d'you think?

Their own police force, sharia courts, army?

Are you going to be able to keep a straight face next ANZAC Day when they honour the memory of thousands of young men and women who gave their lives to preserve the Australian way of life for future generations,  while we let it be taken from us like candy from a baby?

Do you know what a TV studio is?

What the heck has a TV studio got to do with the police force, sharia courts or army?

Are you going to keep a straight face and honour the Turkish people who allow the Australians to lay claim to a piece of their country every in rememberence of the Anzacs?

Again, Do you know what a TV studio is?

It's irrational to think a TV studio means handing the country over to anyone by any measure.

Re: Muslim Community Establishes $ Million TV Studio

Just that these benefits have in many cases been used in acts against the very government that bestows these benefits.

Would you care to be a bit more specific?

In your opinion, how many qualifies as many - 2, 10, 100?

Do you mean they have used their benefit money to finance 'acts against the government' or that they have engaged in 'acts against the government' whilst receiving benefits.

Do you understand that there is a difference?
