I was listening to Scotty Cam being interviewed on radio this morning about the new Block Glasshouse series.
They're converting an office block with a 70 foot glass frontage, into 4 apartments. I see he still measure in Imperia,l lol.
It's in High Street Prahran (Melbourne).
Here's the kicker:
Instead the apartments being horizontal occupying a floor each, they're going to be vertical. So each one will have 4 stories!
Compelling viewing for those that like to watch renovation shows.

I'll probably watch the first episode. Then periodically. I find that the "personality" factors in the show are annoying. And the advertising agony.
4 floors - will require elevators for each vertical apartment won't they? Or the very fittest of all purchasers following completion.
I think I read that the purchase price of the building was about $7million.
For the "return", these apartments will be selling for around $2.5million one would imagine. There had better be some good finishes included. No 'Home-made' looking inclusions.

Looking forward to it. Not sure how they will arrange each floor level though.
Parents will be a long way away from any kids. If there's no elevator will your guests
have to trample 3 or 4 floors? Should be interesting

I liked the earlier series where they demonstrated techniques more than shopping trips and the viewers got to learn a few tips while watching the entertainment.

I can't see them not putting some sort of elevator in a high class high rise apartment in prestigious Prahran. Apparently there's to be a common area in the middle of the block my guess is there'll be a shared elevator linked to each apartment in some way.

You'd think they'd almost have to have some type of elevator in such an apartment, for sure. It will no doubt be interesting to see what this lot of contestants come up with. Are they all newbies or is there a return of some from previous series?

I'd put the bedrooms and wrap a slippery slide around the elevator shaft so you can slide down and ride up 😄

No idea. I haven't watched it recently.

Update (I finally got to see a whole episode last night):
What all started as fun and games after a night out together soon turned to mass destruction when the boys decided to trash their former living quarters on The Block.
Furniture was thrown, ceiling panels were pulled down and rooms were destroyed in what they say was an attempt to catch "a rat" by "trying to kill it with everything".
Surveying the mess in the morning, Keith was unimpressed with the piles of rubble everywhere, presenting a serious safety hazard on his job site.
"It sounded like they caused a human earthquake and demolished downstairs," Jenna said.

What a bunch of infantile BLOCKHEADS! The bathrooms are looking good so far though.

I've been recording it and watching it at my leisure - lol
Have to say. I'm very impressed with Chris and Jenna so far.
Ultra impressed with the boys, brothers Simon and Shannon.
One is a plumber, the other a painter, who is also doing interior design.
Unimpressed with the destruction and mayhem though.
If I saw what they had to work with, I would have run screaming
