This thread is dedicated to my Mother and her recovery.
On Monday the 4th June 2007, while holidaying in the UK with my Father, my Mother was struck by a van while crossing the road.
Mum spent 88 days in various UK hospitals before finally being brought home back to Australia on the 30th August 2007.
She is currently in The John Whittle Nursing Facility with brain damage
I have set up this thread to keep you all updated on her condition and her improvements and hopefully one day, Mum will be able to read it.

i rang dad yesterday and left a message on his machine telling him the story was on and could he watch it.
I dont know if he was able to.
I hope he did.
I will ring him tonight.
The doctors talked Dad out of trying stilnox on Mum. They made him scared that it might make her worse.
Well it aint gonna get any worse then this.
4 years later and nothing and no help anymore from them.
I really hope dad watched it cause im gonna tell him to demand they give mum stilnox

Is it too late to give it to her Amy?
Just thinking, if she woke up and started moving around etc, would that help repair the other organs that are not working properly?
i just dont know.
I would hate for her to "wake" and be in pain.
But then i think, well at least she may be able to communicate that she is in pain.
I mean, geez, whats the worse that could happen now?

Thats not the worst. The worst is what we have now.
Even my hubby talked me out of giving it to her.
When i said i was just gonna give it to her on my own he said
"what if she dies and they do an drug test or something and they find that in her system? what if you get charged with manslaughter?"

Your husband was right with what he said Amy. I wanted sooo badly to give my husband excess of morphine when he was sufferring in the final stage of his cancer, so he could peacefully drift off, but I was terrified that his family would take it further and I may be charged with manslaughter.
It will forever haunt me the memories of him begging me to help him go and I couldnt do anything about it.
Amy I really feel for you and your family with what you have been thru and what will continue to go thru. โฅ

tough decision...it may be all too late now to give your mum the stilnox Amy....and if you did and she 'woke-up' for a few minutes and then asked you to please help her die? then are you worse off, in that perspective ?
realy tough times, i so feel for you Amy, i would detest being in that situation.
When my Mum was having chemo for her bowel cancer, it made her so ill with vomiting, etc, etc, that she said to me, she realy wanted a break from the treatment but that it might mean it would stop working.....i said, ' mum it's your body, you do what feels right for you'., she had the break, and the cancer did take a greater-hold on her life. From the day she was diagnosed ( her 73 birthday) to exactly 9 months later she was dead. But im not bitter at all, that was her body her choice.
