My Mums update thread

This thread is dedicated to my Mother and her recovery.




On Monday the 4th June 2007, while holidaying in the UK with my Father, my Mother was struck by a van while crossing the road.

Mum spent 88 days in various UK hospitals before finally being brought home back to Australia on the 30th August 2007.

She is currently in The John Whittle Nursing Facility with brain damage

I have set up this thread to keep you all updated on her condition and her improvements and hopefully one day, Mum will be able to read it.

There IS no reason (IMO) Amy. It's just life. Sometimes, life sucks BIGtime and no, it's not fair.

Amy, your saddness pours through the screen. Im so sorry that you have to deal with this.
Your grieving doesnt ease as it usually does when a person dies, it is dragged out and that must be awful. (((((hugs)))))

I dont care much for the "higher purpose" crap either Amy, it's just a f*&#@*d up situation. 😞

but be very aware as I am after reading the posts on your thread there are lots of people here that care deeply about you and are sending you support ...........

I had a sleep and i feel a bit better now. Still have a headache and my face is all blotchy from crying but i do feel ok now.

Amy, I haven't commented here before (I don't think), but have followed your Mum's story from the beginning post and of course your excitement recently about your new little fella.

I can't offer any wonderful words to comfort, unfortunately sometimes there is just no rhyme or reason - life's just a bitch, plain and simple. Bad things happen to good people, for no good reason. And no, it's NOT fair.

Just a big hug from me, reading your last few posts brought tears to my eyes. I am so sorry you are having to go through this.

I am positive that, although your Mum may no longer "be" in her body, she is somewhere in the universe, looking in on you, your family, your precious new arrival, and loving all of you.
