This is Heather Moor the colour we are painting the lounge dinning and kitchen, could have been a bit lighter but anything is better than cream.

If you want it lighter add some white. You could paint some areas/walls in the darker colour and other areas in the slightly lighter toning of the same colour.

The painter is coming in the morning, if we are still a bit iffy about it I will send Mr F off to get some white to tone it down a bit. It's a patch I put on the wall so by morning it will have dried more so the colour will probably be darker once it dries, I have a feeling we grab some white tomorrow.

It is a very pretty colour but I think in large amounts it will turn out light purple rather than lavendar if you know what I mean.
It reminds me of painting my small second bathroom...the floor had grey/blue tiles and the bottom half of the walls was grey waterproof fibreboard. It was a bit ordinary but at the time finances did not permit more than a paint job so I went for yellow to brighten it up.
My Dad was doing it for me and when he had done one wall he suggested I have a look as it was a bit overpowering as it dried.
The decision was made to add white. Long story short it ended up half the original colour and half white and was still pretty bright.

We are in a unit, the kitchen dinning are combined then the loungeroom joins the dinning room which is rather a big room with 1 window and a largish bay window. My new curtains are cream lace and 4 mulberry tie backs.

We have a black leather lounge I intend getting a floor rug with black mulberry and the colour of the walls to go in front of the lounge.

Freddie...................if you are unsure use different strengths in different rooms.
The colour we painted here looked better and lighter as a half tint in our kitchen...............but full strength in our lounge and hall.
My brother is a painter and he said it seems to be the "IN" thing to do it that way instead of differnt colours.
