Any suggestions for getting quick attention at Casualty. Not me personally, just someone ........
I've seen criers, whingers, noisies get attended to more quickly than me. Even though my " sore" was sorer than their "sore"
Instead of "iceing" the affected area, should the patient act as if they had taken "ice"?
Or should they wait patiently. For hours on end.

I've spent more time in casualty this year than the rest of my 46 years put together, the quickest we got in was with a friend who'd had a knock to the head a couple of weeks after a triple bypass and his warfarin levels werent stable. Problem was we got in there quickly, but then they kept him there forever doing a million tests and to keep an eye on him.
I find the waiting in the curtained area worse than being in the waiting room, last time was 6 weeks ago for dad and they decided he was fine but wouldnt let him out until he'd weed
8 hours later!
Good luck, hope they can help you and the waiting isnt too long.

I agree, the curtained area is b-o-r-i-n-g.
So Stawka, how about keeping a diary for us as an "8hour shift casualty patient".
Age, dress code, apparent dilemma of those that walk/hobble through the door. Children's behaviour. How many relatives does 1 patient have - all sitting on the only available chairs. How many ambulances interrupt the flow of Casualty/Emergency.
Keep us yourself entertained; you know, just to pass the time.
Take care![]()
