My day

After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this before and after 002.JPG

Re: My day

Good evening Dayers....

So much going on - Freddie I love the finished bathroom but agree that those curtains don't quite look right... I did think venetian type blinds where the go when I saw the pic.

We are now renovating our place down south and I have to replace the window coverings in the main bathroom there too. We had a roller blind that is now absolutely yuck and full of mould. I was thinking about one of the newer styles of Venetians and LOVE the look of the honeycomb ones. But has anyone actually got some? I am not sure about airflow through them? This window is the opposite of Freddies - tall and narrow.

Amber - good onya for getting back here. Don't let someone else's actions spoil YOUR fun and enjoyment of life. People can only leave you low if you allow them to do so.

Sandy! All that cooking!! Oh my.... wish I was a neighbour as well Smiley Happy Glad you are better now as well.

Bushie, shame about that tree, but I am sure you will find it shooting back up from the roots. We had a half acre block in town when I was a kid, that backed onto a storm water gully full of willow and poplar trees. The council (in their infinate wisdom) decided to remove the "pest" trees, and before we knew it poplar and willow trees started appearing in our back yard as they shot from the roots! We had to convince Mum to chop them out, as she was a great believer in letting nature take its course Smiley Happy (And of course, the gully got more and more eroded!)

Re: My day

Afternoon B3 🙂

I was sad to see the willow go but this morning I realise we now have a lovely view of the lake and the old railway station which the old willow had been blocking, so I guess good has come from bad, as it often does. I am also interested in knowing about the newer types venetian blinds. Once my lounge room is painted, I will be looking at replacing the dreadful curtains which now ( kinda ) cover the window and have been considering buying a wood look venetian. I have never hear of the honeycomb ones, so I guess I am really behind the times.

Re: My day

Does some of the black soot transfer to your finger?

And don't touch anything else until you wash that finger.Smiley Frustrated

Re: My day

I don't know Bushie.  It has been raining quite a bit so we haven't been watering it, but yes, it is a little too cold for this time of year, unlike the mainland which is having the opposite.

Re: My day

B3, you are spot on. People can only bring one down if one lets them.

The mother in law renovated her bathroom not unlike Freddie's. Large tiles, large shower with thoughts for the future, and a beautiful glass screen.

There was a privacy issue with the small window, she put in a honeycomb. It looks great, suits the "lines" of a modern bathroom, and is good insulation (faces the afternoon sun). Been in a while now and still looks clean. Don't know about airflow though.

Re: My day

Okay, nothing comes off the leaves, it seems as though the black parts are an actual change in the leaves themselves (and I washed my hands straight away).
