After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this

Morning everyone.
Leggo has certainly come a long way since my kids were little. Looks good.
I love the pics of the Harbour, B3. My kids once went on a road trip to Sydney and stayed at a mystery hotel which turned out to be an executive suite at the Hilton. They went on the ferry and came back with some great pics.
I'm hoping that my veggie patches will be ready for planting in Autumn. Another working bee will be happening sometime in January which will see the remains of the existing one gone. Ofcourse, I could be planting things such as lettuce in pots.....
DEB, years ago, I did a 2 year writing course and I learnt the hard way the importance of saving what I'd written at regular intervals. Of course, what disappeared into the black hole was my best writing ever. Always the way. lol.
Geeling much better after a reasonably good night's sleep. The dishwasher has been unloaded then reloaded and is now in the process of washing that load. A load of washing is on. Kitchen is back to looking respectable and I finally took a couple of pics of the flowering lily and petunias.....

Here's the lily. Its not a day lily is it? A canna lily perhaps?

Morning Bluey, I have a pot of petunias in the side garden bed they have been in flower for 2 months or more and still looking fresh, I hung 2 pots from the same punnets in hanging baskets on my front verandah and they only lasted about 3weeks.
I've swept, mopped, dusted and vacummed plus cleaned the bathroom and toilet and swept the garage and front verandah (and mopped it)

And the petunias which I intend to plant out today. The wind has picked up so I think that Bushie;s weather is not too far away so I'd better get that planting done asap. Oh, and ignore that punnet of deceased seedlings.......

100g sultanas
1 onion, finely chopped
100ml cider vinegar or white wine vinegar
1cm piece fresh ginger, finely chopped (I use ground ginger instead)
200g (1 cup) sugar
pinch mixed spice
half teaspoon salt
500g rhubarb, sliced
Heat onions, sultanas, vinegar, ginger, sugar, spice and salt in a wide-based stainless steel saucepan (don't use aluminium).
Boil rapidly for 5 minutes, then add sliced rhubarb.
Return to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes, until thickened and jam-like.
Leave to sit for 10 minutes, then spoon into clean sterilised jars.
Makes about 600ml.
I divide it into small plastic containers and freeze, then use it when needed. I have it on grilled cheese, and on some meats. It is sweet-tasting, and yummy.
It might change your mind about rhubarb.
There will be some leftover rhubarb from the bunch, so cook it with some sultanas, mixed spice and sugar, and use it in puff pastry in a sandwich maker, for a delicious dessert with cream or icecream.

Good on you, Bluecat. A clean slate in the laundry and kitchen works wonders. And your helpful workers are a treasure for you.
I'm looking forward to early autumn in the garden. Bushie is pulling out her sweet peas, and I'm looking to start some off.
In the meantime, the compost will get turned over. Might have to start a second pile for the rogue coarser components.

Add on: yes, they are day lillies Bluey.
