After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this

Hello all.
We are having NBN connected next monday. It has been a bit of a marathon, but hoping it will go ok. We made arrangements to have it done months ago. The first bloke who turned up flatly refused to go onto the roof. The second bloke came, but was not happy to take metal off the roof as a storm was brewing. We were happy to postpone, and it did rain like heck. The first bloke came back with a mate and fiddled around on the roof for a couple of hours but could not get wiring through without taking tin off. lol
The internet provider then rang and said we needed to have a plumber on hand. I said well that won't be happening as OH built the house and was capable of doing what was needed ( for free). He was out of action after a heart bypass so we just waited until he was able to get onto the roof and sort it out. He has now done that, but I am a bit sick of the whole thing. The end result will be good, as cheaper and faster than what we currently have.

Hey Katy xx
I've been hearing things like you describe all over the place. I do hope you don't have to sign up with "T" though because you might have all sorts of strife with your telephone service before they come to link it up.
Good luck, and hope it all goes well for you.

@amber-eyed-girl wrote:Yes, it's NBN or nothing when it's done. So if it isn't completed correctly there's no service. That's what I am concerned about...back to not worrying 😛
Had the sewing machine out too. Hemming.
No, they won't cut you off your old service, if you don't have an active NBN service, as long as you have applied to get one. Theywill only due the cut off the old service when NBN is active. They will cut off others who have a working NBN service.. when the time comes to cut off the whole area from the old copper network.
Back to not worrying.
Bit of an effort katy, but as you say worth it when its active.

Cool as an early spring morning. Condensation on the inside of the windows. However, the sun is shining
Will don the galoshes and do the garden observation tour later. I think I will be picking a couple of tomatoes. Yay.
No birds around the birdbaths, however a small flock of rainbow lorikeets are seeking attention on the balcony rail. "No you will not be fed by me. Shoo. I don't need droppings on the rain washed decking"
Might wash the windows externally today. I'm fortunate that I don't need a ladder! Have to do a supply run too. How exciting. Not.
~~~~waves to MIAs and wish a good day for everyone.
Yes, nice to have a sunny day without excessive heat & humidity.
I have some self sown cherry tomato plants. Spotted a small bunch nearly ripe, went out again next day to see how they were progressing and the nearly ripe ones were gone... completely disappeared. No part squashed bits or skins on the ground. Birds?
For me, that could be birds (small enough to be carried off whole), possums, or very low-flying daredevil bats
it's mostly bats for any fruit here
We wage a battle with birds every year. As soon as a tomato starts to change colour we pick them to ripen inside. Otherwise they end up with beak marks. Leaving a few ripe ones close to the ground is a good idea, give the birds something to go for.
Hi there Vic, are you aiming to be around for a while? Time lapses, poison the flow of conversation sometimes, so be patient with my replies.
Done the windows. Checked the tomatoes, picked 1. Yep am3, things go missing in the garden. I"m missing half a bowl of pine cones from the BBQ table display. I suspect possums.
Rescued a wooden shelf unit from a puddle in the carport and airing it - it was one of those "get-around-to-it" jobs that sank in restoration priority. Now it's back to the top of the list. Because I think it will replace my current chairside cabinet ( you know the sort, holds handcream, tweezers, knitting needles, magnifying glass, empty chocolate packet, TV remote on top).
Late lunch to prepare. BBL
