After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this

Morning Vic and everyone. Yes pleasantly cool. Humidity gone.
That big 'ol moon is giving some theatrical lighting to the backyard. Nothing really planned for the day. Probably dig up the tomato plants that were the biggest disappointment for me. Might prepape the beds for some sweet peas. Might not, too.

Mornin'
What happened to the Tomato plants ?
Bugs get to them ?

Mildew, then leaves shrivelled, then fruit got sunburnt due to no leaves and "cooked". And then rotted. This was my first and last attempt to grow them here near the coast.
And yes, maybe I should have shaded them from the sun. And the couple I ate, well the acid in them didn't agree with me.
So ***stamps foot*** no more.

Morning EB and Vicr
Not liking these cooler, darm mornings at all 😞
DEB Apparently most people's tomatoes were very slow to crop this season. Not sure which variety you were trying to grow, I know when I was living near the coast Romas seems to crop the best for me.
I saved heaps of Sweetpea seeds from last yr, was going to plant them in the same spot, looks like I wont have to as they are dozens of little self seeded plants coming up. yesterday, I planted a heap of Jonquil bulbs that we dug up from the back yard and saved, hopefully they will do well.

As long as we get some rain as well, was chatting to my neighbour a cpl of days ago, she is needing to feed out every day now, she told me she bought in 3000 bales and still has to ration it, those cows can eat

Mother nature has been a little "strange" in my opinion for the last year. Prolific flowering of trees, shrubs, etc, consequently many seeds as if the weather is going to be harsher than usual; and the "survival" of the species can have a better opportunity with these extra kernels.
By the way, up popped two Norfolk Island pines in a leaf-littered garden bed. The first 2 leaves were just plain spikes (thought they were a wattle that I have nearby) then the next pair of leaves identified them with the massive parent near the front border. (Yep, a little potted Xmas tree about 30 years ago planted out apparently).
I've potted them up in red plastic containers. Might be able to sell them at Christmas - don't know though what year yet
Bushie, some beautiful perfumes for the future.
Vic, how's your 12ft high fuschia?

Yep DEB totally weird seasons atm, hope the little pines do well for you ..... My roses are lingering on, so the back garden smell quite aromatic atm .... This is my fav rose, I love the way it continually changes colour. I still have quite afew tomatoes, waiting to ripen on the vines, may not happen, as the weather has decided to cool down in past cpl of days. I will give them a week or so and if nothing happens,, they will be going into the compost heap.
