It was sublime (and I am pretty critical) One comment I heard was "wow! to have a concert with so few blemishes". From someone who really knows. They did good 🙂 MSO are amazing right now.

An early good morning from me. A little bit warmer than anticipated with some cloud cover. Wondering if I will witness the astral phenomen at sunrise.
Not been doing too much in the garden lately. However, walking up the path I noticed little pink spears vying for space to eventually show off their "dancing flowers" in the near future. This is not my photo. Billbergia nutans.
What I have been doing is furniture orientated. I am teaching myself how to get various finishes on furniture. Recently, I built up muscles, and suffered from cramped fingers to get a special warm glow on the waxed cedar chest of drawers which had previously been painted.
This past weekend, following the repair of the drawer runners, I have prepared a 1920's dresser for a finish. Not sure what that finish will be yet. Might be a combination of the current craze of deep, deep dark blue cabinet with teak coloured wax/polished drawer fronts and top.
Practiced a new "finish" on a mirror's wooden-surround yesterday. The shine I got was almost as reflective as the old speckled-in-places mirror. That was a wet/dry sandpaper and shellac and metho method (sort of poor man's French Polish).
~~~Waves to everyone~~~
Good morning Lloyds and anyone else reading ....
How busy you are Lloyds, love the flower, is it also known as "Kangaroo Paw"? I remember seeing something similar when I was on the mainland recently and it had a name like that on a tag.
I thought I was busy, but you are doing so much, and how wonderful that you are working on furniture, I am envious of your skill, well done .. xx
Lots going on here as usual (roll on Christmas) and I have been backwards and forwards to various States preparing and participating in some music masterclasses. We were "YouTubed" in one session which made us a little nervous and rattled .. but we got through it without too much drama/trauma ...
Stay warm and cosy all ....
Kangaroo Paw is quite different actually, Tas. It has a "felt" texture to the flower and it's bract is more upright with multiple sets of flowering heads from the one stem.
The Billbergia is member of the Bromeliad family and is "waxy" in texture and the weight of the flowers creates the hanging effect. I have had the plant in a hardy zone (both heavy frost and hot, hot sun) so it may well suit your climate.
Creating music around the place? Wonderful.
Thanks for the information Lloyds, I might look into getting it and finding a nice spot for it just outside the front window. We've been threatening to put some modern window flower boxes out there in Spring xxx
Try planting some of these Tas... loving the colours that have popped out now!
Strangely they all came out of the same mega punnet... I picked plants out at random, and yet I ended up with the whites and brights planted across the front of the house, and the path is lined with various shades of the smudged purples I posted first...
