Re: My day

Good Morning everyone.

Awww Deb, not good.  Orange in the morning a shepherd's warning!

Sounds like you had some activity in the area last night.  With polair involved, it sounds like they were determined to catch whoever it was.

Bought a dozen colour pots of pansies yesterday and scattered them in the bark area.  Daffodils are popping up everywhere and freesias just about ready to bloom.  OH's 70th next weekend and we are having friends staying plus lots of visitors so trying to "pretty" it up a bit.  It looked a bit bare with all the roses pruned and my OH really prunes them!

Can't wait to see bushie's garden in Spring.

I really worry about freddie - hope all is OK in her world.

Nice kitchen. 🙂

I am in Waikiki atm. Pearl Harbour today and dolphin swimming tomorrow.

Hope you are having a wonderful holiday, Azure.  We miss your wise comments on some threads.

You have missed a couple of very cold days here, but otherwise the weather has been lovely.

(Edit, I'm sure you haven't missed the cold at all).

Re: My day

Hi there, Sandy and everyone else.

I've been reading about all the preparations for the BIG party down your way. And the garden area sounds as if it's in party mode too.

Thinking back to the past........again.....I recall my Pa painting his pruned rose bushes with a Lime Paste (white in colour).  I used to think it was so that he could "see" them whilst planting his pansy and primula seedlings so as not to get spiked.  I now know it was more for the health of the plant. But the effect was "architectural" - sort of angles against the soft curves of  leaves and flowers.

Take it easy (as ifSmiley Wink) with the organization of the event.  Sit back and delegate.

The sun is warming now and promises to be a splendid day for the time of year.

Load of washing to hang out now and then into some more sawdust/oiling/waxing of an old oak dresser - have to instal some missing drawer runners too.

Bushie, bub is due late August, but my poor DYD is HUGE already! I can't see her lasting quite that long, and OH jas already put in orders for a 13th of August delivery, so he get's the best 60th birthday present Smiley Wink

The daffodils I planted ages ago along woth the freesias were finally starting to make an entrance - then OH thought he would be helpful today and decided to scratch about in the front garden...

Not sure how many he managed to decapitate in the process Smiley Frustrated

Re: My day

b3.....why o why do they do it?......be helpful, I mean.

A tad cold about the ear lobes this morning, but the sun is shining now and am looking forward to its heat warming the day to about 17 degrees.  Showers/rain is forecast for the rest of the week.  Spring can't come soon enough for me this year.

The police operation on Saturday was reported as being  a routine Traffic patrol, where one man made a run for it.  He was apprehended 2 hours later after the "search". A total 4 people from the car being charged with firearms offences and firearms being sent to Forensics.

We've had lovely winter days - sun shine but a cold wind, but they say tomorrow is going to be lots colder - YUK!

Ah well, good weather for sewing - I hope to get the banner for the bub's room done if my hands hold up!

Re: My day

Little things in the garden .......

With the sun finally settled, with the birdlife nestled away, out came the nocturnal insects.  Hordes of them.  And what are they, that came from an easterly direction.   Tiny little bats!    Like an airport with incoming and takeoffs and aborted landings all happening at once.  Traffic controller certainly did a good job.

Final patrol saw an owl swooping and circling and landing on the Hills Hoist.  Nature at its bestSmiley Happy

Re: My day

Deb - Your writing is like poetry, so descriptive.

Good morning everyone.  The bulbs are emerging, the freesias are coming out and they smell beautiful.  Can't wait until spring.  Can't wait to see bushies garden - especially around the old ?plough.

I am busy organising my OH's 70th on Saturday but most of it is under control.  Start cooking a few things tomorrow but the main meal is catered for - a spit roast company.

Have a good day everyone ...

Re: My day

Exciting time ahead for you and your family B3 🙂  Hope the baby shower goes well and the mother to be is not feeling toouncomfortable  🙂 .... Mr Bushie doesn't remove ANYTHING from the garden without first consulting me

Sandy is the party this weekend?  If so I hope it all goes smoothly for you, are other family members/friends going to be there to help with you with the preparations?

DEB I love your way with words 🙂

Been flat out here removing and transplanting roses to their new abodes. I decided to turn the large rose garden into a veggie patch, so all the bark as well as the roses had to be removed and transferred to somewhere else, just a few roses to go and it's done.  3 metres of top soil arrives next week, so the wheelbarrow will be getting a good work out that week.

It a real "pea souper" here this morning, hoping it will burn off into a sunny day
