Well I got a lovely surprise today... OH has been working hard outside and today I got to see the finishes results!
This is going to be my new veggie garden - it's a down size from what I had before, but we have less space available here, and with my back being the way it is, probably a much better size!
Now just got to get it filled with soil and some manure, and I can plant my spring veggies
I think he did an awesome job, as you all know he was standing behind the door hiding when they handed out handy man skills, so this is HUGE!

Sandy that p[ic is seriously cute 🙂 TY for thinking of me 🙂
Wow B3 that looks great, well done to your hubby ... Are you going to put cardboard in the base to stop the weeds coming through?

Bushie, we have some of that weed mat to put down (if I can just find where we put it after the move!) and this lawn is mostly buffalo ( plus some weeds from years of neglect ) so shouldn't be quite as invasive as kikuyu can be.
I'm already plotting what to put where - this bed is almost 4 metres long and around 1.2 wide... I know there will have to be tomatoes, and corn, and maybe a couple of lettuce, cucumbers, carrots.....
Might have to go looking at some seed sellers!

Good idea re weed mat B3 ... Thats is a good size veggie garden, your hubby really has done a great job building it. I am sure you will have fun filling it up .... You can always add some trellis at the back of it to grow your cues, aso saves some space in the garden bed. One of my plots is around that size, it will be used for growing pumpkins, zucchini and cues growing up a trellis.

Shame that Freddie left but I hope she is happy with whatever she is doing.
I should be starting a new garden sometime around October. Nothing too intense and definitely no palms.
I hope she is happy too. I think she would be disappointed that the intention and spirit of her thread has not always been maintained, the main reason being condiment obsession.
We look forward to hearing how your new garden goes, Azure. Your experience will help to make it perfect. My gardens have always been trees and shrubs with meandering paths in between. No grass at all. Remember I asked for suggestions to brighten up my cement area. After seeing $15 priced common plants at nurseries, I went to a flea market and bought $2 ones. I had a part screen put up and I am happy with the result.

Bushie, DYD is HUGE!
No sign of bub yet, but her Dr is happy with how things are going.
Dates say there is around 2 more weeks - but I think she'll burst first
OH is hoping for Thursday ( his 60th birthday) but both me and DYD don't think that will happen.
