Nappies

I was thinking of buying a supply of nappies for our new grandbaby, (due in July) but have seen a few things lately about a movement back to modern cloth nappies rather than disposables. Obviously I'll ask the parents what they want to use, but I'm curious what babies are actually wearing these days.
Anybody have any current info?

It's probably relevant to note, baby won't be in day care until about 12 months old.

Yeah, fluffies. We called them Bunnies in NZ. I think, that was the brand.

Yep, had the blue liners to catch 'solids'! too.

When my niece & family were expecting their second child (first a boy) a few years ago. I could'nt resist and bought a pink baby outfit. The newborn was a girl fortunately, so I didn't need to buy a different outfit.

By the time you got the fluffies on over the cloth nappy, their bottom was way bigger than their top Smiley Very Happy

I used to use a blue nappy liner thing too..looked like todays chux cloth.

As far as nappy rash and disposables go, I think some tend to leave them on too long and try to get too much milegae out of them. A wet nappy is a wet nappy and needs changing.

My grandson couldnt wear disposables as he was allergic to them..............nothing to do with being left on too long.

I wasn't implying that at all. But the disposables tend to 'hold" a lot more is all I meant.

Okay. Yes, I think some leave them on too long.

But I wasn't talking to you or about your grandson.

Sorry Haize, but your reading waaayyyy too much into a harmless general statement. If Toes had said all cases of nappy rash are from disposables left on too long, I could see the reason for the overreaction, but she didn't.
And some people DO leave disposable nappies on too long, poor kid waddling around with the nappy hanging down to its knees cos it only gets changed twice a day.

Good quality LARGE cloth is the way to go, they can be reused in the persons octogenarian years 🙂

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Happens a lot around here, thinking the worst.

Gotta look at the upside, until it's obvious it's not on the agenda anymore.
