Subway removes ham and bacon from nearly 200 stores and offers halal meat only after 'strong demand' from Muslims
I wonder if this is going to happen here?

In a predominantly muslim or jewish area, it does make good business to not have forbidden foods. My eldest dated a muslim man for a number of years. He was very gracious and respectful. There were times when I was making sandwiches for everyone, that I;d remember notto give him ham but forgot and made his sandwiches on the same board that I had made the ham sandwiches on. he was always so apologetic about it byt, jeez, it was no big deal and easy enough to prepare another sandwich on a clean board. I think people need to get over themselves and stop being so petty and jealous of such little things. If you want Subway that has ham and bacon then go to one that sells it.

I think you'd probably find that, in the areas where these outlets operate, the number of extra customers they would gain through selling only halal food would outnumber those who might be turned away.
Yep, thats why I said..........."I guess they have to weigh up is the bacon going to turn away more customers or the lack of it."

Did you have a dog in the family at the time?

Yes, two of them but they were never on the menu.

I ask because dogs are considered extremely unclean in Islam. I wondered how your visitor reacted to them.

Completely off topic but that just made me think of a vegetarian I once knew. She would bring her own frypan to cook the vegetarian sausages at a school sausage sizzle. Not that we cooked them on the bbq with the meat ones, but she wouldnt eat from any frypan that could possibly have had meat in it. On the rare occasion her husband cooked himself some meat (in his own frypan) she'd put it outside for the dog to lick it clean
Back on topic....so that would expalin, and answer my earlier question, they would get more customers if there was no bacon or ham at all because they wouldnt have to worry about other food/untensils having come in contact with the bacon/ham.

My daughter only eats fish and chicken, no red meat, none since she was 12yo and always has her own frypan etc.
