I thought there was something wrong when I saw all these old posts first up then I saw a new ID had spam replied to them all.

You make is sound like it is a matter of opinion.  It is not.  It is a matter of fact.

Do you know the difference between static IP and dynamic IP?

 Static IP changes the address?

Re: New ID brings back all the old posts

a static ip stays the same, a dynamic ip, which most of us would have, changes when you reboot router.

No, going by what my husband who knows about these things said..........

I am leaving it at that, dont want any arguments.Smiley Happy

Anyway the new ID's will continue to happen, no matter what...

Just have to watch who we really are posting too.

i'm not arguing, just telling you what you are saying is incorrect - if your hubby knows about these things then you must have misunderstood what he said.

Have it your way.........you know what you know, & I know what I know...........that is the last I am saying on the subject, as I have other things to do.........

its ok, you can do some research later and admit you are wrong then 🙂

Oh OK.  Then I have a dynamic.   Confused there for a minute.

Was thinking it was the other way around.

Don't mind me.....as you were...

you see, i dont get that, i just thought your IPS addy is the same no matter what, which had something to do with the connection of your internet provider

or is IP something different?

Re: New ID brings back all the old posts

It is so amusing to see the mental gymnastics and machinations revolving around the use ip proxy servers, static/dynamic IPs to attempt to explain the discovery/nondiscovery of posters with multiple IDs.

There is a simpler and more effectivemethod of exposing a poster using multiple IDs

I an sure that eBay are able to identify if the post is coming from a particular computer/modem pair.

I have been accused of having multiple IDs as recently as yesterday, it just gives me a giggle that the cyber sluths are so convinced in their belief, without having a clue, that they know without doubt, and make accusations based on their misguided understanding

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

ISP is your Internet Service Provider.

IP (Internet Protocol) address is something your ISP assigns to you.

Not so sure they can (or can be bothered)  If you can change IP by rebooting router

and I know you can change your IP address in your computer (first 3 #s must stay

the same) then it seems easy -peasy

Go on de-bunk me - I don't mind
