Someone has bought us a dishwasher, which was very nice of them. However I have no idea of what the best tablets are to use. Some of the ones I saw at the supermarket were hella expensive I thought.
What would you lovely CS people recommend? Ones that don't leave a residue and don't wreck your dishes over time. 🙂
TIA

Yes, scrape them off as best you can but the dishwasher retains the final rinse water to rinse the dishes with before washing so there is no point rinsing them first.

If you don't rinse the food bits off first, your dishwasher filters
will clog up with food and it'll stink like a tip.
As for powders, regardless of what the packet says,
only use a teaspoon. It works just as well and it's economical.

Not if you scrape them off first. The filters are supposed to be cleaned sometimes.
I never buy powder and use a reduced dose of gel or liquid.

Sounds to me like it's less hassle and less expense to just wash dishes the old way, by hand.
I'm lucky in that when I wash dishes, I get to look out of the kitchen window onto a view of the back yard. Trees, birds and seasonal flowers. It's a time to relax my mind. I wouldn't buy a dishwasher for quids. 😉

If that video is any indication, your mind is way too
relaxed already - white rabbits indeed.

Oooooh, nice 🙂
At least I don't have to waste my time thinking about what sort of tablets to put in my non-existent dishwasher. 😉

I think washing dishes by hand is becoming a lost art. Much like with moping floors and school hallways whan the custodians have those oversize bulky in the way floor machines. When I was a substitute custodian, nothing said exersize and staying fit to me like mopping a long hallway, side to side figure 8s, it was like dancing the way I did it.
