Nine Defends Sonia Kruger's 'Freedom of Speech'

Sonia Kruger has defended the controversial comments she made about Muslim immigration, with the Nine Network backing her "freedom of speech" in expressing the opinion.

The Today Extra host on Monday called for the Australian borders to be closed to Muslim migrants, and says she's entitled to discuss these issues.

"Following the atrocities of last week in Nice where 10 children lost their lives, as a mother, I believe it's vital in a democratic society to be able to discuss these issues without automatically being labelled racist," she posted on Twitter.

Her comments came during a discussion relating to an article written by News Corp columnist Andrew Bolt, who said there was a link between France's terror attacks with the country's intake of Muslim migrants.

While Kruger said she had a lot of "peace-loving" Muslim friends she said there are also fanatics.

"Personally I would like to see it stopped now for Australia because I would like to feel safe as all of our citizens do when they go out to celebrate Australia Day and I'd like to see freedom of speech."

If freedom of speech means it's  OK for Sonia Kruger to use her position as a public broadaster to advocate for  banning Muslim migrants, does freedom of speech also mean it would  be OK if  Waleed Aly, decided to use his position as a public broadcaster  to advocate for the introduction  of Sharia Law?  

(And yes, I do know he wouldn't really do that, it's a hypothetical question)

the jews in ww2 were murderred by the germans mostly and i rekon germany paid a heafty price for its sins. 

personally id have not only reduced germany to rubble id have cut it up and created a new jewish state if they wanted it.

maybe if we handed george bush, john howard and that british twerp and the other yes me too sirs who started this over to the muslims to do as they please with we might have got out of this without all this bloodshed.

just a thought.

so far on one hand we have the jews where a whole lot of countries came to the party and actually helped them, not saying had hitler just been killing jews and not been taking over other countries anyone would have lept to the jews aid mind you.

then we have todays muslims where a whole lot of countries came over and killed a very large number of them and no one said hey, thats wrong stop it, well yes some did but who can stop a meglomaniac US president?
