Except for rorting politicians.
They are just forgetful
They get promoted.
And the correct term is not "rorting", it's crooked and corrupt.

And the article quoted ????
A couple of things forgotten in the discussion. The ABC has a deaply ingrained cultural problem. It has been thumbing its nose at its statutory requirements to be politically impartial for years and now believes the laws that apply to everyone else, no longer apply to them.
Heres a news flash for ya. If you dont like the laws surrounding jounalistic freedom, lobby to have them changed. Dont just ignore them and break the law cause it suits you.
On the question of Scott Morrison and politicians in general. The thing the lefties forget ( or many probably dont even understand ) is that one of the cornerstones of Australias consitution is a little thing called " The Seperation of Powers ".
It requires three independant arms of the law.
The first is the politicians, led by Scott Morrison as PM. They make the laws. End of story.
The second is the police. They ensure that people are abiding by the law and bring offenders before the courts......End of story
The third arm of the law is the judiciary. They decide whether potential offenders are guilty and decide what punishment is required.....End of story.
If any one of these seperate bodies influences or interferres with another, the seperation of powers is broken and legal chaos ensues. Before the lefties demand that Scott Morrison explain or intervene in this case, I suggest they take a holiday to Columbia or Rhawanda to see what happens when the Seperation of Powers is not respected.

how about the line in the warrant saying the police could take evidence and destroy it?
i thought a warrant to search for evidence was to use that evidence in a court, not to destroy it.

Not only to destroy, that would be bad enough. The scope of the warrant allowed the AFP to โadd, copy, delete or alter,โ material in the ABCโs computers.

Kerry O'Brien says AFP raids on the ABC and Annika Smethurst 'go to the heart of democracy'
i suppose it will be back to handing over plain brown paper envelopes in dingy car parks and muffled voices in future

i remember when the coalition were creating new laws to protect us from evil how when those putting up red flags were told these laws were important and checks and balances were in place to make sure they wouldnt be abused.
now we are seeing just how those laws will be used by our protectors to come into our homes and take anything they like and jail us for telling the truth our govt doesnt want known.
when we saw the blanket put over the 'boat people' re telling us the people just what our govt was doing out at sea it opened the door for our govt to do bad stuff without fear of us the people knowing about it.
remember, these things that are being 'investigated' are not investigated because they are untrue or fake, its to find the person or persons who dared tell about what was going on so they can be punished.
