I know I have never had such bs as I have with the NBN before
Quite seriously, for the most part, it has been on par or below dial up

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull was not in office in 2009.

i've had it for about 6 months.
positives - i have 1000gb download compared with 15gb on my old wireless system
- it costs per month $99 compared with $135
negatives - speed is slower than wireless IMO, definately not faster.
- i have had 1 dropout lasting all day of course including phone.
- i was promised 25mbps minimum and i dont get that ever.
Malcom took control of the NBN as minister of telecomunications when T Abbott won the election. it was his baby and his alone from that point.
had we been delivered the NBN labor was rolling out everyone with fibre to the home would have very fast internet.
at exactly the same cost as it turns out because malcoms system has had cost over runs and stuff up left right and centre including having federal police raiding offices of opposition members of parliment trying to hide the truth about just how much $ was getting spent.

The slightest glitch and there goes my landline phone.
Everytime I pass the room where the NBN is connected I count the red lights on the modem. Any out or flashing and I have to pull the connectors all out then put them back to reset everything so the phone works. Sigh.
I've had more issues with my landline phone in the last few months than I've had in the last 20 years.

It sounds like a bleep nightmare. (I put in my own bleep to save them the trouble). We have yet to look forward to it being installed some time this year. I dread it.

I have now had it - NBN - for in excess of a year.
Landline as well - no different than when the power went out - all those new phones with answering etc - depending on electricity - when the power went down - so did the phones.
It drops out - yep - a little more than it should - but given - it is the only source now - we live with it.
Must admit - it is not as bad as it was when first connected.
It is what it is.

NBN was lauched in my town a cpl of months ago, we have at least 12 months to connect, so are not bothering atm, maybe they will have the "kinks" sorted out by the time we choose to connect

Someone from my ISP/landline phone provider is coming on Saturday to install my NBN.
It was an offer I couldn't refuse; believe me, I did try.
Anyway, years ago I had a subscription to Foxtel and a fibre optic cable was run to my house. I have even connected to Telstra Big Pond via this cable and I understand that only Telstra internet can be used with this fibre optic cable.
I am wondering, if I switch to Telstra, can my NBN then be fibre to the home? Does anyone here know?
I'd ask Telstra directly, but i don't want to be kept hanging on the telephone for ages listening to muzak between intermittent reassurances that my call to them is important.
