OMG What a day!

We moved OHs parents into a nursing home today.  She doesn't really want to go but recognises it's necessary, but he is very angry and is not hesitant about telling anyone and everyone he doesn't want or need to be there.

Stress levels are through the roof!  Wine is helping Woman LOL

It's horrible to see some of the wrecks there that would have once been vibrant and active young people. Nature is so cruel to keep the heart beating long after the mind has vacated the premises.

What's the point of politicians touting a longer life expectancy when life is no longer worth living other than to keep the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry afloat?

Oh that's a bit harsh. They are quite capable of living happy, enjoyable lives. They just can't do it without assistance  and the best place for that is in a nursing home.

We left them alone yesterday, but are going over this morning to take them to mass and then out to lunch, which has been their usual Sunday routine.  We'll see how it goes.

i did not mean that every old person who has slowed up a bit should be knocked off I would be top of that list haha !!!!

theres different degrees of how bad a person becomes ill and i for one do not want to be still ticking if i am in pain or have to have someone else feed and wipe my bum for me

I'm sure your in-laws will be fine, Lurks. I was just making general observations.

There are quite a few functioning people in the nursing homes I've seen, that enjoy all the activities and have their families visit.

Today went fairly well, although they seemed a little more confused than usual, but I think that's probably as a result of the changes they have made.

They like their new priest and loved the restaurant we took them to, so that was all good.  There were a few tears when we took them back to the home, but they brightened up when I told them we'd bring our #2 son with us next time we came to visit in a few days time.

We're going to leave them alone until Wednesday, hopefully to help them settle in a bit better.

My friend and I have planed our escape already incase it happens to us, we are going to do a Thelma and Louise.

I told my children long ago to put me in a home if I start losing it, after seeing my husbands Mother and what her Daughter went through to keep her home.
