Old Chinwag Craft Board Block Swap 2007

Sometime in early 2007, the Craft Board quilters got together and organised a Block Swap. We had to design and prepare enough blocks to make a quilt for ourselves, provide the first block completed and send the package on to the other crafty people in the swap.
We each completed a block in everyone's set.
My quilt was for my grandsons' bedroom in my home. I set a theme of teddy bears and boy's toys.
Most of these quilts have been finished for some time....... but.... I could not make a decision on how to do mine until recently.
I learned so much in that year and can't thank everyone who was involved enough! My applique skills are much improved.
So, thank you ♥

I have also sewn the labels of the blockmakers onto the back of the quilt, behind the relevant blocks.
I made mine into a quillow, a quilt that folds into a pillow, so one of the blocks is on the back of the quilt and when folded into it, becomes a pillow.
My 3 yo grandaughter looked at it and said "Gran, that is brilliant" and that is a good recommendation, so I have to thank everyone who was involved.

Thanks all for your support so here goes ... this is the start of my quilt.

I have been doing my blocks today and found that my first block I completed in class needs to be unpicked because I have the crowns sideways. Only when I was doing the others did I notice. The left one is the class block and the right was done today with 9 others.

Rosie thanks for the link but can't find it. I purchase a Electric Quilt Software that is for beginners that has thousands of blocks on it. Only problem is that even though it has some fabric stored it is not like the EQ6/7 that you can scan your own to see what it might look like finished ... so got to use your imagination. Also this software was cheaper than the EQ6/7 $40 compared to $200 - $280.

The one on the left is their pattern and the one on the right is what I came up with. The solid colour blocks is where I am going to put Belle, Aurora and Snow White with the names down on the 2 white patches in the middle.

These are the Belle blocks. I am just using to the purple and not the borders.

This is kinda what the diamond block might look like but it is just me fiddling to see what it looks like with the yellow in the 4 corners of course.

And this is Tinkerbell Dress ... It is a little crushed because Princess wore it on Father's Day and I haven't washed yet because with all the glitter and diamonte's it has to be hand washed. I have to replace a few on the shoes as well because I think I didn't let them heat up enough before putting on but this is my first attempt at my hot fix gun. The shoes I bought from Rivers for $8 and then went to town on them with fabric paint and glitter. :^O
