Old Chinwag Craft Board Block Swap 2007

Sometime in early 2007, the Craft Board quilters got together and organised a Block Swap. We had to design and prepare enough blocks to make a quilt for ourselves, provide the first block completed and send the package on to the other crafty people in the swap.
We each completed a block in everyone's set.
My quilt was for my grandsons' bedroom in my home. I set a theme of teddy bears and boy's toys.
Most of these quilts have been finished for some time....... but.... I could not make a decision on how to do mine until recently.
I learned so much in that year and can't thank everyone who was involved enough! My applique skills are much improved.
So, thank you ♥

I have also sewn the labels of the blockmakers onto the back of the quilt, behind the relevant blocks.
I made mine into a quillow, a quilt that folds into a pillow, so one of the blocks is on the back of the quilt and when folded into it, becomes a pillow.
My 3 yo grandaughter looked at it and said "Gran, that is brilliant" and that is a good recommendation, so I have to thank everyone who was involved.

Went to two quilting classes this week.

The first was for an English wedding quilt which was relatively easy, the second for asian style placemats.

It was so hard!!! I made one in 6 hours! It was like a jigsaw

I've made another one since, last night, I'll post pics later, but can't imagine how I'm ever going to have the patience to make 8!:-(

ME TOO!

Went to class today and learnt my next block. Teacher quite happy thinks I am not going back to class because as I was leaving, she said "I want to see your quilt when finished". I told her I was coming back to class because I don't know what to do next.

I was watching some ladies making those Cupcake Oven Mitts. I was saying that I wanted to make them.

Then ... I bought a bundle of fat quaters 5 of and was going to make my daughter a stripework skirt but needed some coordinating pieces for top and bottom. I looked at the pattern and I need 5 x 1/3 yard :_|, so now I don't know what I am going to do with bundle.

Asked the teacher and she said that there was class coming up showing how to do a card wall hanging for Christmas ... :_|:_|:_|:_|:_|:_|:_|:_|:_|

LOL brizzybee.

iIwent to the Asian placemat class intending to use of bits and pieces of my various oriental fabrics, only to find out I only had enough for three, because although they are all pieced, the fabric has to be the same or they look in the teachers words "like a dogs breakfast", so ended up having to buy another 1.4 metres of fabric, plus wadding and backing.

And I thought it was going to be a cheap exercise to use up some leftover stash!
