Oldest article of clothing you still wear.

Following up from a post on the op shop thread, what is the oldest item you still wear. Mine is a skirt I have had for 10 years. I relegated it to 'around the house' wear this year. I did have a dressing gown I loved, I threw it out this year as well. My OH shamed me into it. I remember my son was in his pusher when I bought it. He is 38 this year. ๐Ÿ˜ž

A black tshirt that has a large heavily machine embroidered waratah flower on the front. Everyone comments on how lovely it is whenever I wear it. Mum gave it to me about 25 years ago. Mum has been gone over 9 years. It is looking well worn now but I treasure it and feel very special when I wear itSmiley HappyHeart

I can't believe your oldest item is only 10 years old, that would be half my wardrobe ๐Ÿ˜„ I have a few vintage pieces that I wear on occasion, a couple of coats from the 60's/70's and a black angora cardy that's probably 1960's. I have quite a collection of vintage clothing but it's rare that I find something that I like, that suits me and actually fits.

LOL, my wardrobe is full of stuff that I bought 20+ years ago.  I have some beautiful timeless coats that are over 20 years old, and dresses, and my favorite handpainted shirt my daughter bought for me some 30 years ago; it is bit faded now, but I still love it.   ๐Ÿ™‚

I used to have my mother's beaded dress from the 1920s -30s, and silver fox fur, but the beads all fell off and the fur got bit mangy ๐Ÿ™‚

.....I also have a fox pelted shoulder cape thingy.....with the actual fox forelegs(no bones just the fur stuffed) and paws with claws that hang down the front. Was my Mothers LOL! Keep it just to freak myself out every so often!!! I have my GrandMothers also think hers is some other fur might be mink not sure.....both in perfect condition. Not a fan of real fur though but will hang on to them for keepsakes a bit longer me thinks.

.....however kateymatey says.......... 'you still wear' no, not on your nelly!

Yes real fur was very popular not so long ago.   I'm so glad it's not worn now by animal lovers.  I remember those fox heads with their beady little eyes.  How times change -  how could we ever have thought they were 'fashion;.   In the 60s it was the rage to wear kangaroo skin coats and I had  a lovely cream one .

also bunny coats - called 'lapin'.     Ugh.
