I was overcharged at the vet and when I pointed it out they said they returned overpayment into my bank account. This was Wednesday late afternoon. What's the usual wait time until I see it in my bank account?
Thanks 🙂

I hope your $$ are back in your a/c soon.

How do they do the refund without your card? Maybe that takes longer?
If I've ever had to return something for example, even if they have the receipt, they still require my eftpos card to refund my money.
So, they don't really need my card? They can do it wiuth just the receipt?

Easy peasy.. use the MOTO feature on the eftpos machine (mailordertelephoneorder), punch in the CC numbers and expiry date and amount and select refund (need a managers code to do this where I work). It is an electronic transaction so shouldn't take any longer than one put through for a purchase.
I am not sure if they can use the numbers off the receipt (probablu not, exp date wouldn't be on there), perhaps they asked CM to repeat her card no's again over the phone.
Where I work we have customers cc details recorded usually, if we don't then we would ask for them when they phoned/emailed regarding a refund for a transaction that was incorrect.
We used to have a silly silly lady in the Optometrists she either made a mistake with the eftpos or put the wrong family members number through for the health fund mucking up individuals amounts that can be claimed.
As it was the next day when I noticed one of her mistakes with payment, they couldn't reverse (refund through eftpos) it and had to send a cheque for a refund. (may have just been that companies procedures to do it that way, but was annoying).

OK, it just made me think, because I sent one of the Crikey's in to return something for me the other week and they said they couldn't do it without the card I used to pay for it initially.

Probably different in a retail outlet. They wouldn't want the staff doing refunds willy nilly, they could use that function for fraud.
Check out workers wouldn't have the authority to use it.
This was for an incorrect amount of $$ deducted too, the Vets mistake.. bit different from a refund for a returned item.
We only use the refund function on the eftpos machine when there has been our error in the amount charged (service industry).

ok. thanks for that, I just thought it might take a bit longer for cat to get her refund if they didn't actually have the card kinda thing.
Mine is usually pretty instant.
On that one I was surprised that the money was in my bank before I got home from the stores - thought it would have taken a few days.
