PERTH

I am becoming fascinated with Perth!

Tell me everything! What are the nice areas? What's not so nice?

Is East Victoria Park a nice area? What about Mt Lawley?

How cold does it get in winter? Many people? Is it busier now?

Why have you got sandy soil over there? Is it everywhere? LOL

Pictures please 😄

Roleystone, Martin, Armadale and Kelmscott Hills, Bickley Valley, Kalamunda, Mundaring, totally beautiful areas, beautiful houses, great picnic spots, great scenery, love driving through those areas.

Re: PERTH

I'm very lucky to live in such a lovely place Joz.  Isn't it strange how one little border can make such a huge difference 😄

But not surprising as my suburb is classed as a working class area.

So you havent ventured outside your boarder line then eh?

Signatures suck.

Re: PERTH

Thank you for starting this thread, Claire.:-)

Hubby and I are considering selling up and moving to Perth to chase work. He is sick of his job and we've been trawling the sits. vacant. ads - if we lived in Perth he would walk into another job tomorrow - here, not so much.

If we make the move, we'd like to be within 2 hours of the airport and want large acreage - can the WA folk kindly let me know what areas I should be looking at? It's hard to do a property search when you have absolutely NO IDEA of what areas you should be looking at.

Re: PERTH

It's along time since I've been to Perth, but I loved it. I have memories of sitting in Kings Park?? at night, overlooking the city lights, the beautiful clean beaches, & the clubs in Freo.

From what everyone's saying, it sounds is if the population has grown and the road traffic is heavier

There is also a life size statue of him in Fremantle.

Ive always questioned the validity of that statement, was he really soo short?? Ive stood next to Bon, on the plinth of the statue, he is shorter than me, quite a feat I assure you :^O

Joz, I LOVE travelling the Great Northern, to see family in Hedland, love the look of the dessert, especially at sunrise/set, beautiful!

We spent Easter in Busso, the scenery on the way down was also nice. South on S/W HWY in Autumn or Winter is gorgeous. There really is so much to see and do if your willing to look for it.

I have tons of pictures of outback WA, but I dont know how to do that.

I woul think south of the city, between Jarrahdale and Pinjarra. Blocks of land here are postage stamp size for a huge price, but there are outer lying areas where you can get acres. I wouldnt know where to look to the North, I know there are places beyond the Swan Valley which is really nice place to visit, but they would not be within range of the airport at all, I dont think.

Re: PERTH

Comparing to Sydney.........

Climate is terrible, too extreme.

The Casino is good, Fremantle is lovely, Perth is expensive apart from real estate, lots of indigenous people asking for cigarettes on the streets when you go walkabout.

I thought the public transport was pretty good there each time I have been there.

Too many right wingers reside there too! lol

Airport in serious need of upgrade.

Lots of mice and spiders too.

Re: PERTH

# 57 doesn't really warrant an answer.

Monsters, be careful of thinking you will just walk into a job, plenty have come here thinking that only to be disappointed.  The streets are not paved with gold or jobs. That said it is truly a wonderful place.

There is land (acreage)  north of the city as well , Muchea, Gingin, Chittering (Upper and Lower), a lot of 5 acre and upward blocks. Beautiful areas. About an hr to 1 1/2 to the airport.

Re: PERTH

That's true too roserobin, the jobs are not as readily available as people believe.

You would be better to apply interstate in many cases rather than go there and be disappointed.
