with another day another 30,000+ cases within NSW the pandemic will surely end soon as they run out of the unvaccinated or will Camberra run out of unvaccinated first ?

Fortunately the South Africans were correct in evaluating Omicron as being highly infectious but relatively mild - almost effectively the fourth vaccine for those fated to contract

I don't want to talk about shots - unless it's Vodka.

Had my first Shingles shot today - rather noticeable compared to the really fine Covid.

But then again a bit of a kitty with needles - only had 3 now - where I've remained upright. lol

Next I suppose I should think of a Flu number - never had one of those either.

Yes, the shingles jab is a substantial one. It’s not as nasty as shingles itself… but you’d definitely notice that you’re being vaccinated.

The new Novavax  vaccine: Novaxovid ….. looks very promising.  90% efficacy, 2 doses - 21 days apart.

They are currently looking at making a combined Novavax / flu vax combo for annual shots.  Which would be a great idea.

P/S… I hope the link works 😑

I've never had a shingles shot so can't compare but from memory, the flu shots I've had in the past were about on a par with the covid shots. So if you were okay with covid vaccination, you'll be fine with a flu shot too.

What I found though is that after the flu shot, you might get a reaction. I don't mean as in ill or anything, but more in having a sore arm. Some years I had absolutely no reaction at all and other years my arm was sore for a few days.

Bit the same as the covid jab actually. My first caused a sore arm for about 5 days, second, no reaction.

Well accepting the mantra that the pandemic is a pandemic of the unvaxxx'ed

The active case status infections are for all intents restricted to the unvaxxxed

So for ACT which has a very high vaxx uptake so is prime candidate State/territory for observing the defeat of the pandemic

Approx POP  432,000

unvaxx'ed  % = 0.3%  = 1296 people :  run out of unvaxxed candidates in 2 days

unvaxxx'ed  % = 73.2% = c316,000 : run out of unvaxxxed candidates in less than a year at current status but obviously as more people get the third jab at c4000 per day ....

Nett active cases now 5004 after reduction of 597 last 24 hours

( active cases being the infected who are officially medically monitored )

All data sets being equal and consistent  within 10 days the end of pandemic

Nett new cases = 1020 , new hospitalised = 1 (one)

well, here we are . . . 10 days later.

Have all unvaxed people in the ACT now caught COVID and acquired natural immunity?

Are case numbers down to negligible levels in the ACT?

Is the pandemic over in the ACT?

C'mon roges . . . how about an update?

Spoiler
Pretty bad figures considering the pandemic is meant to be over (according to roges’ prediction 10 days ago).  Still well over 5,000 active cases and hundreds of new cases.

Here’s a screengrab from the ACT coronavirus website:

Now now

The topic heading has nothing to do with facts, so posting facts here is surely off topic, no?

Topic may as well be titled : Santa to stay here for the year

The bit I have quoted above . . . big call . . . A REALLY BIG CALL!!!!!!!!

Are you going to stake your reputation on it?

We'll see on the 23rd January . . . you will be hailed as a visionary . . . or a fool.

It's only 4 words so I should understand but I don't.

Whose temperament? Mine? I wasn't aware I'd done a Jekyll & Hyde lately.

Just coming back to this thread as I do believe you made a prophecy about 11 days back that the pandemic would be over in 10 days.

See, I have done a study of prophecies and where they all fall down is (usually) the timing. They might get the event right but are wildly optimistic about the timing.

My prophecy: We'll be seeing covid threads for a little while yet.😁
