I decided to open a bank account and put money aside to pay for my funeral.
When I mention it to people most of them say "But you would die for years yet."
Today Tony said "So you can't die before you have saved up enough money "
Tony thinks like me.

I'm not sure but I think if you leave your body to science to aid the understanding of the human body you don't have to pay anything.
I have a couple of friends who intended to leave their bodies to science and they have been told that theirs are not needed.
There are a few reasons why a body cannot be accepted
Not in the geographical acceptance area, recent trauma, autopsy, notifiable disease, chemotherapy, some infections, less than 40k or more than 80k at time of death, resident of UK or Ireland 1980 to 1996, few other reasons.
Otherwise they need as many as possible.
There are few of the reason make sense as to why they have been refused.

That was when there was an outbreak of foot and mouth in the farm animals.

No, there is no cost to the relatives, other than the initial embalming at a funeral home, and transportation to U of Q. They even have a thanksgiving service every year so that relatives can be thanked.

Funeral at body farm, guests advised to wear gumboots 😄
That's what I would have preferred, but was told there were none in Australia, so I will be doing the next best thing.
Missed the link earlier?
It is not yet established, and I am in Queensland, so no go.
are you sure? worth enquiring about:
University of Technology Sydney professor of forensics Shari Forbes said bodies donated to science and used at the facility would be left exposed or partially buried so forensic experts could observe how bacteria, insects and weather influenced the process.
She said anyone interested in donating their body for research would have the option of selecting the Yarramundi facility on the form.
“The donor will be asked to check the box if they agree to their body being used for research at the facility or leave the box un-checked if they do not,” Professor Forbes said.
“Their relatives can request that this does not happen after their death, as they can with any aspect of the donation program.”
She also said that donors or their families can decide how long they want their body to be used in the project.
“Some researchers may only study the remains for weeks or months, whereas others will study them for longer,” Professor Forbes said.
She said once the research was completed, the remains would be returned to UTS and then disposed of according to the donor’s final wishes.

What I don't understand is how forensic scientists can come to conclusions based on body farm results which had to come from overseas. Unless there is some place in the world which exactly matches Australia's conditions.
