I think the problem is that this not only needs to be followed up in under 7's but throughout the lifespan.  How many in their 50's know for example they need boosters and how many teens fall through the cracks like mine did? I also wonder why the government is targeting welfare recipients?  Because its easy and convenient?  What are the stats?

In some states in the US its the wealthy that are not vaccinating that far outweigh those in  low socio economic areas.  I think we need to address this broadly across the whole spectrum.  Also what age does this apply to? 7? or does this apply right up to adulthood.

They also don't test for immunity following vaccinations, so there is no way of knowing if all children are actually vaccinated.

For me the question is one of safety and efficacy.  Are vaccines safe and effective? According to medicine they are classed as "unavoidably unsafe"  Are they effective? taking into account that when these infectious disease outbreaks occur just as many vaxxed as unvaxxed present in the emergency room, I think there is a reasonable doubt in regards to the effectiveness of vaccines also.

Lol my fully vaccinated child has had whooping cough 3 times in her life so far. Her 2 siblings who have never been vaccinated against whooping cough, have never had it.

Makes no sense whatsoever so don't try to make it about anything else.

I agree, some of the wealthiest suburbs in Sydney have vaccination rates as low as those in disadvantaged areas.

I think all that policy does is fly even more red flags at the vaccination debate.  People will still choose to not do it if they feel strongly enough about it.  

There is no ultimate solution.  People are going to get sick and die from diseases, no amount of vaccination will ever stop that from happening.  People will also suffer greatly because of vaccine damage.  Vaccines may once have been considered the ultimate medical miracle of modern times.  What they are now is a political tool for people like Abbott to use as a weapon against concerned parents.
