From January 2016 parents who do not vaccinate their kids will lose up to $15 000 in allowances/concessions, except in cases of medical and some religious reasons.

as long as they are an approved service. It makes no difference if the centre is privately owned, community fundeed, profit or not for profit CCB and CCR can be applied. The government does not pay to keep a service in operation. If its approved it means its been rated and assessed
CCB has a VERY high cut off point so many many families claim it, not just low income and CCR is not means tested
CCB is not paid to a family, it is paid to the centre to reduce the fee the parent pays and CCR can be claimed by the parent or paid to the service to reduce the fee.
Good point, that was my bad. I should've taken that into account. But it's also a problem if more centres start refusing unvaccinated children. I honestly think that is discrimination. The govt can do whatever they like when it comes to welfare and the people just have to take it, but they have no right (and neither does anyone else regardless of their own personal experiences) to enforce vaccines onto people. Thats the difference with pro vax people, they will always tell you to vaccinate, even if it means your child will be damaged. Whereas anti-vax people will never tell you not to vaccinate, they'll say educate before you vaccinate.
The thing is Chuk, high income earners wont really be affected by the cuts for not vaccinating, whereas for low income families it could mean the difference between working and not working. (Whats the point of working if you have to pay out 3/4 of your days wage in childcare fees) They are the ones who will be more affected by this policy.
Yes, there are surely better ways to increase the rates of vaccination than punishing children.
A website with a clear explanations of the facts might help. One which sorts the myths from the facts. One that explains the potential risks of the disease and the potential risks of vaccination, with scientific data presented in a user friendly manner so those not at risk see there is little to fear and those with who've received medical advice not to vaccinate are protected also.
An aggressive stance on issues is rarely effective. People don't like to feel bullied.

Morrison made a big boo boo last night. He said that vaccination rates are at 97% at present.
That rate is what we should be aiming for. It has been at that rate in the past, and at that percentage Australian chidren are considered to be "immunised at a maximum rate".
He needs to rectify that error before the nutters jump upon it and use it in their arguments.

When I was doing my family tree I was searching the archives, I went through all the registers from 19th century in the region where my ancestors came from. In the death register there were times that page after page were only babies and little children; death was due to pertussis or other preventable disease. Some families lost 3 or more children within few weeks. Some women gave birth to dozen children and only half or less made it through early childhood.
OK, now with advances in medical care the death rate would not be as high, but pertussis in very young babies is still very deadly, and babies are dying. And other preventable childhood diseases can also do severe permanent damage.
Whatever reaction there might be to the vaccine, the actual disease is lot worse.

So because someone disagrees with your stance on a particular issue they are therefore considered "nutters" by you?
Imo theres a lot less thought process by the people who comply unconditionally to the current vaccination schedule. It was different at the beginning, there were only a couple of vaccines but nowadays with the 24 seperate injections before the age of two, do you ever stop and think about the need for so many? Is the west in some kind of infectious disease nightmare? (When you look at the amount of vaccines we give to babies you would think there was major epidemics of all of these diseases and the potential for more obscure diseases absolutely ravaging the human population) .
Think about it 24 injections before the age of 2. One of which is given within the first couple of hours of life for a disease that (unless the mother is infected) the baby is not at any risk of contracting. And I think it was you Az that asked the question earlier why do they give hep b vaccines to newborn babies? Well I asked the nurses in the hospital about the vitamin K and hep b shot. They didn't know. And that is the honest truth, they did it because thats just what we do with newborns. They had to print out some phamphlets to explain the reason as to why newborns need to be given these shots.
They dont know why they are giving the shots, (I bet if you asked Scott Morrison why do babies need a vitamin K and heb B shot within hours of birth, he'd have no idea) that must be why they turn nasty when you ask some simple questions, because they cant answer them.
And as much as I've enjoyed this discussion not one person here can answer any of my questions either. It always just comes back to either attacking my intelligence or the credibility of my sources or just peoples personal view on whether or not they agree or disagree with vaccinating the way we do these days. Which is all fine and fills up threads but from what I can see here is the people that are avid vaccine advocates are basing their entire point of view on the topic from personal experiences alone. Which is also fine, it's what we do, but it's shallow and blinkered imo.
The reason someone like Suzanne Humphries seems legit to me is because she has worked in the medical industry for a long time and has seen some horrible vaccine injuries that were always passed off as something else by her peers. Anytime she ever tried to blame a vaccine for a reaction in a patient that was clearly due to the vaccine she was shut down. (Because she was refusing to vaccinate cancer patients) She's seen children brain damaged because of parents pumping drugs into their child to try and reduce fever (related to measles). What alot of people dont realize is fever is actually good (provided it doesn't exceed 40 degrees celcius), it's the bodies way of fighting disease.
We dont need big pharma, the govt and frightened people to tell us that if we dont inject our children and ourselves with these toxic concoctions of pharmaceutical drugs to stay healthy and safe (or to ensure the health and safety of others????), we will be either persecuted, banished or punished. IMO this is the perfect divide and conquer issue. All someone has to do is read over this thread and you can see the divide in peoples stance on this issue.
Hey I have an idea, How about we start making homosexuals get around with a big G badge, Christians can have a big C badge, you dont need to label Muslims, they've got that covered already, bigots a B, racists an R, Greenies a G or just an R or L badge for those staunch political supporters Jews can wear a J or star if you like (dont slap me with pulling the godwins law theory, I never said it ;), anti vaxxers a big X and we can all get around in gas masks and gloves just incase we brush up against someone we find undesireable...we can have one type of school for the vaxxed and one for the unvaxxed...because infectious diseases are sooo rampant in the unvaxxed, they shouldn't be anywhere near the vaxxed ever...

1.5 million children under the age of 5 died from vaccine-preventable diseases in 2008

C'mon Polks, we all know those numbers include third world countries, where they dont even have clean drinking water. You'd rather pump people full of vaccinations in develpoing countries than actually provide them with clean drinking water or sewerage infastructure...
Unlike you I'm not trying to push an agenda, I'm just sharing some information I have learnt over the last few years.

You're pushing the agenda of the anti-vaccination mob.

No I'm not. I'm just aware of the risks now, where I wasn't before. I've learnt about how they are manufactured, how viruses are harvested for mass production, how they work and why certain ingrediants are added to promt the desired immune response and how there are hundreds of thousands of parents with exactly the same story.
"After my child (who was perfectly healthy, progressing normally and reaching all milestones on time, sometimes early) was given their 18 month shots, they changed. And they have never been the same since) and this is all coming out since this 414% increase in the schedule.
Why doesnt anyone have anything to say about the 414% increase in the schedule? Does everyone who advocates mass vaccination think this is totally necessary?
Why cant anyone answer the question about vaccinating newborns with hep b?
These are just two questions, out tens if not over a hundred questions that cannot be answered it seems.
People are not anti-vax for asking questions...
