The difference is in the capacity as well. The latency on mobile devices is not so good for gaming.


 


What ever you do, don't sign up to a contract too soon. Telstra try hard to get people onto contract so they can switch at their leisure (I've been on NBN for 2.5yrs and Telstra still say I have to change back to ADSL contract first to get NBN with them). The other RSPs have cheaper options.

Is it me, or have others noticed that the hardest corporations to actually 'communicate' with are the communication providers ?:|

Hey all, anyone here previously an Austar Customer?, & now having issues with Foxtel acting like a complete monopolistic stand over merchant since their takeover? 


 


I'm going to war with them as we speak over terms they never negotiated with me during their recent take over.  They've sent me a final bill, when I'd always paid month to month, Like hell.  What did they do with 10 days?...they say it's their billing system...I say that's lipservice BS.


 


I was an Austar customer since 1998 and it was a pay up front for the month situation from the start....... & they at least offered customer service - rural folk expect it. 


 


Foxtel are HORRENDOUS to deal with by comparison and if you're and ex'Austar customer being stood over by Foxtel, contact Fair Trading in your State.  NSW already has someone taking care of Foxtel ex Austar customer complaints (because Foxtel didn't bother to re-contract any of us) and they will apparently check with other states to see if the issue is widespread. 


 


Just thought I'd mention it since we're talking predatory monopolies, unconscionable conduct, and customer service that sucks big time.

NBN will be good for paid content competition too. AFL are establishing their own network already. Fetch TV is also starting to grow. There will be others and more free to air streams.

Just a small gripe.


 


Bought one of those dongle/Internet thingys to attach to an ipod whislt I was in hospital.


 


Purchased while xmas shopping, took it to hospital, and it ran out.


 


I had no idea you only had 30 days to use.


 


I had it on for 2 days, then it was past its use by date.


 


Not impressed. Complete waste of money
