I am in NSW and have been using the green bags for years.  As they get shabby or damaged they get replaced.

As soon as they were unpacked after shopping they went straight back into the van for the next shopping trip.   I only occasionally used a free one use bag if I only wanted one or two things....and to line my kitchen tidy.

I really don't know what all the fuss is about.  It is not rocket science to remember to bring your own bags.

As long as Coles keep handing out free bags a lot of shoppers will never "remember" to bring their own.

like you, the bags are in the car, and i have more than i will ever need in one shopping trip. i keep most all together inside one bag on the back seat but keep 2 in the front for when i'm just nicking in for a couple of things.

sure when the ban first came in i forgot my bags a few times, no big deal, i just bought enuff that day to put my shopping in (the 99c ones not the 15c ones, as they dont go to waste)

now years down the track i never forget, its just natural.

anyone complaining cant really be serious.

mind you i still dont think it helps the enviroment much as single use shopping bags were never a big problem, lets go after real problem waste like styrene foam and dispoasable nappies!
