If you're fighting to protect people's lives, why not start by not risking the innocent lives of everyone elses. Find another time. I will have more respect for you. I was just saying the other day: Thank God that Australians aren't as crazy as Americans and we have at least some common sense not to choose this time to protest.

Ask that question in another 14 days.
Edited to say - perhaps the reason the count will be low - is because of the lockdowns.

What i found ironic is oin the news it mentioned that one man at a protest had a sign that said black/white-all lives matter. He was jeered by the crowd and handcuffed and led away by police. I'd like to know why saying that 'all lives matter' is considered evil by these protesters. My guess is they in fact don't believe all lives matter, which is why they jeered. When they hear of white deaths eg the police officer shot at point blank range in the back of the head, his life doesn't matter, it isn't worth a mention, because he was white & a cop.

Northland is where the worker was employed. It's a little too close to home for my liking.

That's not great, but how many new cases of people that didn't go to a protest.
That article also says that the person was not believed to be infectious at the rally.

This latest person probably was not infectious at the time of the protest, but they could have got infected there. And between the time they got infected and now, they could have infected more people. There may have been non symptomatic people, and the people who got infected might be also non symptomatic; so we may have now dozens of non symptomatic spreaders. Yesterday we had here in Victoria 6 community spread corona cases, and today 18.
We all have to take the risk and interact with others. We need to get our food, get to work, and interact with co-workers. But the protest was not necessary in this very moment.
Luckily, many people wore masks and the newest reports from the USA confirm what I have been saying all along that :
A- masks can greatly reduce spread of COVID infection
B- the reason they were not telling us to get masks was because they wanted all available masks for medical staff.
Quoted was a recent case of 2 hairdressers who came down with COVID19, but wore masks, and none of their 6 co-workers or 140 customers that came through their shop, have tested positive.
So, now we know, and I am very angry that our government does not mandate masks on public transport, planes and in shops.

What would be the point if so many can disregrard the law and go ahead gathering in large numbers anyway?
The law is powerless against a rioting mob, as we have seen in past events.
A great encouragement for those whose trade is against the law.

"Dumb people: It only has a 3% kill rate.
Smart people: If I gave you 100 Skittles, & told you that 3 of them would kill you, you would avoid all the freaking Skittles."
Once it spreads, even the sticks won't help you. Don't you watch the Walking dead.
