Please find another time for Protest

If you're fighting to protect people's lives, why not start by not risking the innocent lives of everyone elses. Find another time. I will have more respect for you. I was just saying the other day: Thank God that Australians aren't as crazy as Americans and we have at least some common sense not to choose this time to protest.

While I most definitely would prefer the same outcome as was afforded to Danni Minogue, I think chameleon54's comment about public psychology is important. At a time when we all want to feel confidence in our State governments, the sheer suggestion of preferential treatment for some is divisive and upsetting. I think it was a bad political call and damaging to public perception. But then I am not a high profile celebrity.

What needs to looked at is with the protest marches, the one against 5G, what the main benefit of the march would be compared to the catching of Corona. In the opinion of the protesters who were exercising their right to bring to attention the deadly dangers of 5G it was worth it and many more lives would be saved if 5G wasn't put in  their areas. I support their right to do such a thing and I also understand their concerns.

So in the bigger picture, protesting was a necessity!

So are you saying that if the 'cause' is a 'righteous cause', then protesting in large groups is acceptable?  Regardless of the risk of spreading corona virus?

And is the 5G protest the only acceptable 'cause' in your opinion?

When you look at the death toll from say illness  due to radiation from mobile phone towers and what what lurks with 5G then peaceful, sensible protesting I can understand. The protests in Qld and NSW were handled properly and responsibly and as a result there's not much problems from that.

* The protest against the killing of African Americans by law enforcement officers is something I can understand and people had to make their voice heard. The more that this is ignored and swept under the carpet the more dangerous it will be for all.

* In Australia the slaughter of indigenous Australians is possibly only matched by that in the US with the genocide of Native Americans. Both countries are without credibility as long as this is allowed to continue. Protesting is the only way to make this issue come to light where it can be addressed. POlice, fire, Ambulance are essential services. The protests are essential too.

Both are things that need to be addressed.. With African Americans they are on the lower end of the social-economic scale. They would also be more susceptible to illnesses and medical conditions with diabetes being a major concern. With diabetics, the kidneys are put under stress as they try to expel excess sugar though the renal system. This can lead to kidney failure and  eventual death. For the diabetic, fluoride is a deadly dangerous enemy.

Fluoride may diminish kidney and liver function in adolescents, study suggests

* All lives matter! But right now, in particular, black lives matter in the US because for so long they didn't. In this greed-based society, for too long, African Americans have been regarded by some in power as mere collar damage. That needs to stop right now! They need to accorded an equal status that's not just window dressing that we see with a few lucky ones and some sports stars and celebrities etc..

 * Closer to home we have to see real action taken against the uniformed personal who decide to bake an Indigenous Australian man to death in the back of a van while driving along not giving a stuff. We need to see real action taken against officials who end the life of an indigenous man in a police or prison cell and don't even get a smack on the hand for this.  There'd be more of an outcry if they had kicked a mangy dog to death. Something damned wrong there too! So when people in Australia protest about this brutal killing (some call it slaughter), I can understand and I have no condemnation for people who are driven by absolute desperation to protest. I have no condemnation for the decent, caring folk who march to support them either.

Best to take a bit of a risk in a troubled time for a long term gain than to just keep sweeping the brutality under the carpet.

What is essential at the moment is for people to maintain distance, safety and a degree of common sense and respect for each other. The world may experience a viral genocide if idiots continue to make selfish and poorly judged decisions. There will be plenty of time for them to carry out their essential protests if and when this pandemic ends. That is, if they are still alive!

Re: Please find another time for Protest

Is any time  good time to protest when one off your own is murdered and treated like second or third class citizens.

How about the ones that protest with there big guns because they cant get a hair cut and the cops stand there and do Nothing, if you were Black and turned up like that screaming in cops faces you would be battered to hell or dead
