I'm so glad they were convicted. It was supposed to be a welfare check, or did they miss that bit?
There was a thread at the time it happened, and I was more than worried, to say the least.

In the recent past, one cop from our local area has actually been charged with a number of offences and has left the force. ( imagine how bad he must have been ) He was well known locally as one of the most bent cops around, regularly hanging out with drug dealers, confiscating drugs and stolen property from offenders that then " disappeared " before reaching the station, bashing people etc.
Nice that he has gone, but he didn't operate in isolation. While many local cops are the " good guys " there are still police in the local who are worse than most of the crooks. The good guys, are obviously not standing up to the feral officers and reporting what they are getting up to.
I,m just a normal average farmer with no criminal charges ever and I,ve had my house surrounded by armed police, demanding to search the place, pistols loaded and ready......( and of course no search warrant ) What the ???
That stuff just doesn't happen to normal people in most places. ................Where I live its just another day at the office.
I was going to add a couple of other experiences, but frankly I,m not even game to share them here anonymously. Best just to shut up and move on.
It completely trashes your faith in the police and the community is ruled by fear, rather than respect for police. Its a lot like living with the Colabrian mafia, Hear nothing, see nothing, say nothing.
