Policewoman Bashed By Man Booted From Pub

A crowd of more than 50 people has attacked WA police and their vehicle after a man was arrested for attacking a female officer.

The man had been kicked out of the Pingelly Hotel, in Pingelly, in regional WA, at 1.10am on New Year's Day when he yelled at police officers and was arrested.

He grabbed a female officer by the hair, hitting her head against the ground, and punching her in the head.

Officers tried using a stun gun on the man but when it had no effect, they sprayed him with capsicum spray before putting him in the back of a police van.

As they did so, a crowd of 50-60 people attacked the van and officers from Brookton Police Station, who had come to help, with rocks.

The man was taken to Narrogin Police Station and will be interviewed once he has sobered up.

At least three police officers were hurt, with the female police officer taken to Narrogin Hospital.

The police van was badly dented and its windows smashed.

   Again - all fine and dandy when they are looking for someone!!

But a description of race (or colour) is not necessary when they have been arrested!!

We backed up the other word with 3 other sources that said the same thing.

I have noticed recently the police have been using the word 'perceived' quite a lot. This is a direct quote from a current incident "The man was described as being perceived to be of Caucasian appearance".....obviously they are no longer allowed to say "a white man", "an asian man" or "an aboriginal man" etc.

They have to use so many words to say so little in case they offend someone I guess. Or maybe they can be sued if they get it wrong?

I really do think it is because some are so afraid of "insulting" someone.

And even worse, it is often not the person who MIGHT be insulted who says something but others who are not that culture, race, sex or whatever who jump on the outrage bus.

You see it when hundreds of thousands of dollars are spent because ONE person complained about an advert or whatever.

When I was reporting a description to the police, on one occasion, I couldn't honestly say whether the perpetrators were black, white or brindle due to there being night lighting and they had wrapped their heads in fabric.  But I perceived that they were of Middle Eastern background.

It's probably good that I didn't.  There would have been 6 perceived deaths.   They didn't know I was there to confront them.  

One never knows how one will react in a given circumstance. But I was protecting what was mine.
