Dear Mods..I've asked it before and will ask it again.
Political discussion on the Community Spirit board engenders hate speech, enmity, constant argument and divides the community.
There should be a dedicated Politics Board for those that like to indulge in such pastimes.
Solved! Go to Solution.

@idlewhile wrote:I think the Diary stinking govt. thread is a dedicated political thread albeit of the left only, all of the abhorrhant behaviour you are mentioning is on there and if they all stayed on that thread it would make for the forum a better place to participate in and give other posters who have a differing opinion an opportunity to put their views across on their own threads.
Unfortunately many like to start threads, bait threads, antagonistic threads, seemingly innocent threads all designed to stir so it all spills over into those.
Personally I don't mind political threads but some are to be avoided at all costs. Like the above mentioned & et al in the first paragraph.
We are all entitled to start a political thread but the majority of the particpants in this activity are of the left so it degenerates very quickly thus making it impossible to have a decent debate without sniping and spite.
We are also witness to many posters driven off and then the gloating starts. This forum used to be a great place to pop into but now its toxic with unseemly behaviour and rampant political bias and hate, name calling, ID witch hunting and the endless offensive graphics some who will remain nameless resort to rather than an opinion of their own.
There are plenty of threads I can bump up to prove that you are completely incorrect on that score

Yes, 100% incorrect.
The Diary thread hasn't got to 8000+ posts from anti- Abbott posters by making personal digs at others..
If you think Political threads don't belong in CS it is hypocritical to start Political threads on CS.
No chance of them being moved anyway.. more likely different boards will be removed in coming months than new ones added.
Politics = current affairs.. people should be interested current affairs - which is not fun & games.
This is LOL worthy though ....if they all stayed on that thread...no one could seriously be suggesting that.

How the tables have turned, and don't you just love that.
"How sweet it is" "This is the Sweetest victory of all" to quote Paul Keating.

Yeah so all along it's been all about revenge for the ALP on Mr Abbott. Never mind plunging the country into chaos to acheive it, that would be a secondary consideration.
And not one that a either new LNP or new ALP government leader can readily fix, either.

Are you blaming the ALP for his predicament Icy? How did they do this to Abbott?

Don't the voters decide? If there wasn't a leadership crisis then people wouldn't give it a second thought.

Reply to nobody in particular
Isn't this about political threads having their own board ?
How did this turn into a political thread ?
Kinda defeats the purpose of the 'entire topic' yeah ?

If icy didn't start political threads every day then there would be no need to have this thread would there?
It seems to me that not only does she start them she engages on them whether it is nero, myself or someone else that starts them.
I don't think it has anything to do with political threads needing their own board. Should there be a blokes board? A cats board? A newspaper clippings board? A Music Board?
Maybe an icy board?

I'm flattered at your preoccupation with me, so much so that you have to dredge up old posts of mine to keep it current.

It could be suggested you two get a room.
