Poor child in suitcase

How sad is this case in which a suitcase has been found with the skeleton  of a child 2-8 inside. It looks like it is a little girl as clothing has been found in the same suitcase...little dresses and such with animals  and Dora the Explorer  ect . According to the little forensics they have carried out so far the child died a very violent death.

How awful that a little child can meet a horrible end and is not even reported missing

Apparently a man about 60 was seen weeks ago carting  a suitcase and police are now seeking him but many locals had seen the case and some had even gone through it but missed the skeletal  remains

just so tragic the whole thing

Re: Poor child in suitcase

someone has loved her, but how can a child just disappear as if she never existed?

Someone has obviously not loved her.

Like poor little Kiesha Abrahams in Mt Druitt, who was killed by her own mother and also packed up in a suitcase and dumped in bushland nearby.

She was burned and buried. Not wrapped in a quilt made for her.

Yes but handmade by whom? You can buy handmade quilts in op-shops.

Some ethnic groups value boy children over girl children.

Re: Poor child in suitcase

Has there been a report on what nationality the little girl was? If so I haven't seen it. I wouldn't assume that she was of ethnic origin , nor comment on that until there was any actual proof... To do so without having proof sounds a bit racist to me

It looks like a quilt made by a quilting group, given to children in shelters or hospitals.

Re: Poor child in suitcase

โ€œI would suggest, given the amount of work that goes into making one of those quilts, that someone loved that little girl and gave her that quilt,โ€ Detective Supt Bray said.

โ€œI would appeal to that person to come forward.โ€

He said because of the distinctive patterns and images, it was likely someone might remember seeing the quilt, possibly if they were visiting the girlโ€™s parents or babysitting her.

โ€œAnd if someone has ยญeither made it or purchased it second-hand and then given it to someone with a child, they would remember it,โ€ he said. โ€œOr even if they had purchased the ยญmaterial for someone and given it to them. They may remember the pumpkins or the musical notes pattern.โ€
