Prawn question pls?

Ok so the kids talked me into making fried rice with prawns no less...

So i got prawns from the deli at the supermarket and cooked em and put em with the rice.

2 outta 4 decided they didnt want any (LMAO)  so me, baby boomber and one son munched on - not bad LOL'

My questions is tho - how long do prawns last in fried rice once cooked and put in fridge??

I dont wanna make anyone sick!!

Just asked Cheffy O/H & he said no more than 3 days. His favourite saying is "When in doubt, throw them out". He's been a Chef for some 40 years, so I trust his judgement implicitly. Smiley Wink

You also need to be careful with reheating cooked rice.

Usually when I make fried rice with prawns I will have any left overs cold the next day only and not reheat it.

Re: Prawn question pls?

the question implies you've never stored cooked food or seafood in the past.

Re: Prawn question pls?

LOL the question implying that would be right! we dont eat seafood unless its straight outta the water and theres never anything left to store!

I NEVER buy seafood, this is very unusual as u can see by 2 refusing to even try it - ha ha

Thanks peeps 3 days it is, Joono I had no idea that u dont reheat it - so thanks for that ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: Prawn question pls?

pop the leftovers in a container and freeze them in portions...

That way they last longer.
